Albany makes a statement 25-9 style

Do we have any lacrosse insiders who can shed some lot on this point made on laxpower that it is an unwritten rule that once you get to 19 goals you stop tryting to score? I am a little curious as to why we had Resetarits in during the 4th quarter with a huge lead.

It would appear someone named "Ivydude" wrote the book on unwritten rules. His claim:

"The "unwritten rule" is when a SEASONED top 20 plays a lesser foe you stop scoring at some point as a gesture of kindness.

Albany is an "up and commer". It appears they pulled alot of the 1st line and would have been justified scoring 30 if thats what Hartford allowed. "

Hopefully they have some goals left over for Dartmouth. Too bad we are getting all these ranked opponents when I can't get to the games.

That is like asking a team to play four corners of basketball once you're up by 20 or 30. It's hard to ask kids who hardly ever play to just run around and hold the ball. Was Hartford laying off on defense? You have to keep the ball in the box after a certain point to not lose the ball. So that guy is saying that kids (18-21 year old kids, is what they are), should just run around with the ball and not score ... eventually you're going to be open to shoot and you shoot.

What did the Hartford coach say following the game, that is the real question.

It may not be that Albany ran up the score, maybe Hartford is not very good this year - given up 14 goals twice and 21 to Yale
