That's not a bad salary for your first job straight out of college.

Good for him. And 4 years, they must like him a bit up there in Green Bay. Looking forward to hopefully seeing him get a bit of playing time.

Just to temper this great news a bit, NFL contracts are not guaranteed. Let us hope that A) Kurt kicks some ass, making the team out of camp and Kurt stays healthy. Those medical buyouts are nasty.

 

MY PREDICTION: KURT IS RENEGOTIATING THE CONTRACT IN YEAR 3, when he becomes an integral member of the squad.

Jul 20 Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports rookie LB Kurt Campbell's four-year contract had a total value of $1,426,500. It included a signing bonus of $41,500 and as noted earlier, minimum base salaries for all four years.

 

Well the first year is probably partially guaranteed and the bonus is in his pocket except for the agents cut.

RARELY...and I DO MEAN RARELY (hence the holdout issue this year) do you see guaranteed contracts in the NFL....even partially. If he gets injured they have an injury settlement. If he gets cut, he keeps his bonus.

 

It does look, however, like many people like Kurt's potential in Bates system. He is currently No. 6 on the depth chart at LB and they plan on carrying 6....so we will see.

Packers had a practice yesterday for rookies and 15,000 people showed up. That's amazing. Probably not that big of a deal for the guys from big schools but probably the most people Campbell has played in front of-for a practice.

For perspective 15k is more fans than will see UA at University Field for an entire season.

My fingers are crossed and I am knocking on wood as I type this in; He appears to be staying healthy! Remember, very rarley in the pro's do they go full speed, usually half speed with shells!
