I was expecting to see the Danes at the #14 or #15 spot this week.

A few teams moved up, even after only losing games this week.

A team jumped the Danes, even though we had two shutout victories this week.

Shows you that the pre-season ranking can have undeserved negative influences

for the rest of the season.

In the NCAA tournament last year, we lost 2-4 to eventual national champion Maryland. Maryland won by two in the championship game. Seems pretty damn clear that we should have started out in the preseason polls in the mid teens

at least.

Polls are nice and all, but in the end it is just an opinion. Continue winning games to attempt to win league championships and go to the ncaas and the polls will take care of themselves. I am not surprised that a 4-0 victory over Siena doesn't get any added respect in the polls. I am just happy that a victory over that weak of a team doesn't drop UA too far.

Hey Dane fans........don't pay attention to that stupid field hockey poll. It is the biggest crock of crap poll around. I used to joke about it over on the CAAZone with ODU fans......I called the voters the "Sisterhood". The "Sisterhood" is made up of the coaches from the top programs, many who know each other or have played for one another. They protect each other and vote for each other week after week (whether they win or lose). It is a self-sustaining, almost incestuous way of voting and maintaining the power among a few top programs year after year. Upstarts like Albany, Maine, etc. will have a very difficult time breaking into these rankings.....especially the Top 12 or so. What really matters is getting a bid to the NCAA Tourney. Good luck!

"The America East champion will host the NorPac Conference Champion on Tuesday, November 10 in an NCAA Play-In Game. Stanford and Radford are the favorites to win the NorPac crown. The field of 16 teams for the NCAA Championship will be announced that evening at 8 p.m."

How does the AE get relegated to PIG status, especially before the conference champion is even determined?

Is this another example of the "sisterhood" to which mainejeff speaks?

What a crock of bull!

Who makes that decision?

And if anyone makes any stink about it, it would probably would get worse for that particular conference in the future.

TOTAL BS
