Every long FG I've ever seen...they take some sort of extra step. In this instance, it looks like he is taking a 1/2 step, if at all. More like a stutter.

 

That said, my purpose was not that they he would hit a 65 yd FG. It's that the kid nails the FG...and has a strong leg, and is seemingly accurate. All traits we've missed the previous two seasons.

 

If he is nailing 40-45 yd FG's with regularity, I'm happy.

Nothing against Starke, but hitting 65 yard FGs off a tee in practice is like hitting straight drives at the range. An edge rush and a couple of 6-6 guys jumping in front of

you changes everything. Still, 65 yards in practice is a good leg. Oh yes…I remember that kicker in 2013….a laugh a minute.
