Baseball is unbelievable with the number of draft picks - over 1400. It is certainly an honor to be drafted but you have to ask why some of the late round picks - say numbers 1000 and higher even go through the process.

Even if your signing bonus was only a couple thousand dollars ... it's a couple thousand dollars. To play baseball.

You dont get a signing bonus after about the 30th round. Most of these guys will play at least a short season. Gotta remember...these 1000 will be replacing 1000 others who dont play, get hurt, move up, quit the game, go to college etc. Each and everyone of these guys will get an oppty to show some stuff.
