fb 2022 Game #3: 9/17/22 - 1PM @ Fordham

The good: Poffenbarger once again, Sibley once again. Continued use of TEs. Comeback in first half and entering second half with momentum. 

The bad: lack of meaningful pressure on Fordham QB. Getting gashed for big yards up the middle this time as our perpetually undersized D line got pushed all over the place. 

The ugly: unprepared once again and came out of the gate with no points, zero first downs and negative yards in the first quarter..against a Patriot League team with a very suspect defense...embarrassing. Fumble and immediate collapse of the D at the start of the second half to give back all the momentum. Fourth quarter defensive collapse.  Fordham receivers running free all day without a care in the world. Coaching, preparation and game planning. SUNY D 1 football teams a combined 0-8 start. Why bother?

I arrived in Albany yesterday and forgot this was happening but it looks like work is cutout for the team next weekend against CCSU. Hoping they pull out a win while I'm in the stands.

Huh, good for him. I bet he’d rather have the win. Surprised GG didn’t throw him under the bus for the fumble. The dopey Fordham announcers repeatedly said he made a mistake trying to make something out of the play which resulted in the fumble. That would be the natural tendency of a player, including a decent runner like Poffenbarger. 

 

OK.  Nickname suggestion for the new record holder: Poff the Magic Cannon. Weak, I know...
