  1. Just want May to roll around already.
  2. Is Will Brown done for?

Nah man I never get upset about this stuff at all. You were the one DM’ing me complaining lol. I’m cool with it. Never said brown should be let go.
  3. Is Will Brown done for?

Posted something like this in another thread. Nothing against WB, but another two coaches could be leaving and he is still at Albany with 5 NCAA appearances. At our level we need to be a stepping stone for coaches. I get our schools loyalty aspect and everything, but coach is very cozy where he is and can probably miss the tournament the next 10 years and is untouchable. I can’t fault him at all for that as he’s set for a long time. He signed a contract with no incentives and just got a 100k base increase in 2016. I found it very odd with how calm he was with this disappointing season. Just to clarify, I’m not saying I want him gone. It’s more of where is this program headed? Have we reached the ceiling? I get the winning 20 games is the big thing and everyone harps on that, but it shouldn’t be that hard in the America east plus the history of our non-conf strength of schedule.
  4. 2017-18 Season

All teams get a piece of their win share from the NCAA. I’m good with it. Congrats UMBC. But now that we’ve seen the impossible is this going to change the tournament? Do the big 7 conferences have a gripe and create their own tournament and the rest of d1 is left out? Like I said in another post, great for TV bad for everything else.
  5. UMBC

I’m sure the NCAA is loving a umbc/ub sweet 16 matchup lol. Tickets will be hot! Great for tv, but I’m sure they are hating this now. With possibly two more coaches in the America east set to leave, coach Brown could once again be the only coach with any NCAA appearances. This is not a good thing. I’m happy he and his family are set financially, but at our level I’d rather have coaches plucked away because of their success and the program become a stepping stone. Coach just seems too comfortable and pretty much is untouchable whether or not we get to the tournament for the next 10 years.
  6. 2017-18 Season

Don’t know how state funding works, but with UB winning yesterday do they have any edge in receiving more state funds towards their facilities since they won an NCAA game?

https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/378291002 Base over bonus Albany's Will Brown has no team-performance-based incentive bonuses prescribed in his contract. A previous version of Brown’s agreement included 12 such provisions, occupying the equivalent of three single-spaced pages, under which he could receive a maximum of $241,500 in bonuses. For the 2014-15 season, when those provisions were still in effect, Brown’s base salary was $301,660. Under a new contract that took effect in August 2016, Brown’s base salary is now $350,000. “When (athletics department officials) negotiated the current contract they took into consideration the bonuses he had been attaining and added them to his base salary; therefore eliminating the bonus structure in lieu of a market base salary," Albany records access officer Lisa Taylor said. "So he is now receiving more of a guaranteed base.”
  8. 2018 Bracket Challange

There’s no question. UB did catch fire with the three which is usually the way mids have a chance at the upset. Either way it was impressive.
  9. 2018 Bracket Challange

And to the UB poster that used to come here and troll congratulations. I’m officially envious of your b-ball program
  10. 2018 Bracket Challange

Clean program or not give me a win in the tournament. No one around the country cares about their previous players getting kicked off the team. They are the Cinderella’s of Thursday knocking off an even more dirty program lol
  11. 2018 Bracket Challange

The perfect combo for a mid major upset. Ridiculously athletic guards and hitting 3s
  12. 2018 Bracket Challange

The difference in athleticism between the MAC and the america east is incredible
  13. 2018 Bracket Challange

And we supposedly destroyed UB in a closed scrimmage this year??
  14. Agree on all points! Still disappointed men not going to 6 STRAIGHT TOURNAMENTS! Still feel in a one bid conference any tournament is a REWARD. Still feel by declining you are telling recruits, get to the ncaa or you are garbage {maybe a bit too strong, but I still do not like the message declining a tournament represents.} Would've been 7 for the men as well. CIT, NCAA, NCAA, NCAA, CBI, CIT..then decline for cost. Does make it a bit odd that they're highlighting the now 7 straight trips for the women..when put in that context. Could have been more too it than just cost. Maybe the team took a vote? UTRGV is 15-17 and playing in the CBI. Why should any team with that record be in any postseason tournament. CIT games that were broadcast on CBSSN on Monday I would have been down for. Any national TV game no matter the day or time is good.
