  1. Anthony Anderson is their best weapon. He is lightening quick at the PG spot and can shoot the lights out (trust me...i got torched by him in a summer league game two summers ago). Iati vs. Anderson should be interesting...very similar players.
  2. Oh yeah...one other thing....he, WYSOCKI, is rail thin which is why most schools backed off. I would have to think a red-shirt season will get him the size he needs.
  3. No offense to Banach and Delgado, who i am sure are fine people, but they are not the answer at QB...not even at DIII. Chad Wysocki has an absolute Howitzer (my buddy coaches at Alb Academy still...and I placed a call about a month ago when I saw his stats), for an arm. As for Chance Mock....forget it folks...he is not coming to UA. We will hear much about him though, as he expressed interest in Delaware and UMASS...but UMASS's pro-style offense fits him to a T. The only reason he may not end up there is if WHipple flys the coop (most likely to UCF) to coach elsewhere due to the unknown status of UMASS football!
  4. I concur with what everyone has said (I know, lame, but I am a little hung over). Old Dog said it the best...I look forward to this board everyday....who would have thought we could get this far. THANKS AGAIN DP and LP...and too all....even you Dane2k, for making my day more enjoyable!!! Happy Thanksgiving
  5. You are correct....and that area was used by a shortlived danceteam (though someone mentioned we had one at the SIENA game) and a shortlived band!
  6. I have one word for you guys........C-H-A-M-I-N-A-D-E! That's why these games are played!
  7. From the games I know about already, this is going to be one unbelievable year as far as judging talent gaps. We play at Johns Hopkins, at Syracuse, at UMASS and at UMBC. You have arguably 4 of the top 15 teams in the country right there!!!
  8. I agree. SOmething is definately up here!
  9. I know for a fact Hofstra is a guarantee game. Brown is not...it is a home in home. I would figure if any other game is a guarantee, it would be Lehigh simply because they make the most $$$ in the Patriot. COntinuing on your thought though, if only one or two of those games are guarantees, then you have to figure the schedule was done to prep the school, gauge the gap in talent, and sell recruits (class of '08-'09) that we will have at least X portion of our schedule with the big boys. I can tell you this, if we would (and I highly doubt it) sweep those four games, plus get through the NEC unscathed, UA would have the SOS to be the first team invited to the big show...from the non-scholly level. Ahhh....wishful thinking!!!
  10. One thing worth mentioning. I think Wyatt played better than most think. HE missed an easy layup, but he had 7 pts, 4 boards, 2 assist and 2 blocks. Granted, that is not stellar paper numbers, but this is his first real competition in awhile, coming off injuries and against a tough team. Plus, his defensive assignment was not easy. First a 6'6 Mack Truck that most A-10 players would have problems with (HADDIX) and then a 6'10 pivot man. Bottom line...it wasn't terrible. And he showed some toughness when he got into into with a few Siena players. I think, barring injuries, I would take a 7pt, 7board season from him in the AE.
  11. If Danefan is correct, our non-conference football schedule is absolutely BRUTAL next year. It also gives legs to the scholarship football argument. Next years schedule (unconfirmed) includes: Brown (AWAY---part of our two year deal) Hofstra (Away--had a young squad this year but should turn it around next) LEHIGH (not sure where...but they got snubbed for the IAA's because Mont. State got an upset win and autobid...Lehigh is a Top 16 program) and..... FORDHAM (playoff team last year...and a snub this year...top 16 team as well) That is one A-10, one IVY, and TWO Patriot league games. 3 of those teams have been ranked in the Top 15 in the previous three years...and the same three went to the playoffs, each winning a first round game. I am not sure w/o some significant QB changes, we will have a chance to win any of these games outside of BROWN! BTW, Brown finished in a tie for second...they were much better than expected in the IVY...so our loss looks a little better. Wow...Fordie has some serious nutz on him!
  12. Ok first let me address the "i put words in people's mouth" clown. "Don't post about how people would come because it's a nicer arena" No one ever said that. Second...i was talking down the line, something obviously the POPE (AKA D2k) says is not allowed. Third....stony brook is a tiny town....they will never get support. Fourth, the RACC had 4800 for the NYU-UA Elite 8 game. From what I hear, the bathroom situation was so bad they opened the ones on the floor by the entryway into the lockers and the food line was awful. IF and when the team sells out for a solid amount of games, there will be major dissatisfaction from the fans. I agree...i think until we see 4000+ season ticket holders...we have no need to move. That will not happen for at least 10 years. However, if and when that day comes...i have a better idea....a revamping of the RACC. For those who do not know this, the RACC was purposely built down...rather than up for the exact reason of expansion. And before you shoot me down D2k....that is a fact that was told to us when we were recruited. IMHO, they need to build concesssion stands. What we have now is terrible!
  13. Agreed...plus, what do u need the bleacher lights for...to look at each other? Read the program? That's what the half is for.
  14. Those fans must have went to BC for grad school. Seriously, f them. I swear to g-d, people at BC games do the same thing. Some guy had the balls to ask us to sit down last year (Thurs. nite, ESPN V-TECH game---almost a BC upset). THey called security to tell our section to quiet up and sit down. Security looked at us, and for half a sec I thought I was immature w/ the rest of the bunch. Then some 50 year old detective looked over and said, and I quote, "SHUT the F up...support ur damn team....this is a college football game pal. The mah jhang club is 1400 miles away in West Palm." I started dying laughing...so did the rest of the section who stood the rest of the game. Siena fans are cut from the same mold, elitist, "I am going to eat some brie' and champagne before teh game" folks. No offense to the posters on the Siena board, who I am SURE scream there lungs out.
  15. So far so good. For a poor shooting night, we are rebounding pretty good. First...IATI must be nervous...5 TO's already? MARTIN---alll over the place! TWO WORDS: CHRIS WYATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R u kidding me...the kid sounds great right now...ok...so he missed the open layup just now. I cant wait to hear from u guys later. Place sounds so loud!!! Sounds like 12k fans. My guess....4-5k albany fans from the sounds when we score!!! I SO WISH HUGHES and WILSON were there right now.
  16. Considering I lived above T's....yes...plenty of run ins. They should just stay over by that dump of a hangout they all "THE ARC sports bar." Of course our girls are hotter...they have the "real money." Any girl worth from LI worth her salt is taking care of herself. I got to law school with a few Siena ladies....real nice people, but you would definately toss them out of bed for eating cookies, if you know what I mean.
  17. Forget the commercial folks...that is plain old nonsense. Check this link out. We have had 2 games over 10k+ w/ these guys, and they refuse to recognize us with Top-10 attendance marks. R U kidding me? Are they that afraid to be linked to ALbany? I gotta tell you, everything I see from the Athletic Dept. is a defeatist attitude (not the fans...the department). This option for the fourth year should have been picked up by now...get the blood boiling. Not putting the games on this list...more defeatism. When I worked at the Pepsi in 1995-96, I remember Bob Belber having a meeting with a Siena alumn (who works in a capacity for the ADept. now) who was furious that UA was playing in the then KNICK. I think back then, Siena played half-there games at the Knick. I remember the DI rumblings were going on for UA...and SIENA coming up w/ a multi-year deal with the KNICK. At the time, the talk was that SIENA wanted to lock up the Knick fearing what UA's potential was. I thought it was scuttlebut at the time...but the more and more I think about it...the more I believe it. My question is this...if and when UA becomes a huge program...what does the Pepsi do then???? If UA ever becomes a mid-major power...it would seem that the vast student body and local fans could be more prevelant than Saint fans. Of course that is at least 5-10 years off...but will the SIENA Athletic Dept. respect UA??? Here is the link where SIENA seems to nonchalantly forget our 10k+ games. I wonder if they even put the game in their "official stats." In the words of the PRIVATE POUND.....$IENA $TILL $UCK$ !!!! http://sienasaints.ocsn.com/school-bio/sie...ties-pepsi.html
  18. Sorry...GREAT VAIN DANE...screwed the name up! It was the coffee.
  19. GREAT DANE VAIN...NICE AVATAR...i cant believe i used the word avatar...but that is FREAKING AWESOME. I must say...i am really pissed off. I wished I could come to this game now...damn law school. WHO THE HECK DO THEY THINK THEY ARE....stupid little brats. They didnt have the balls to play us in 1993...Doc wanted that game. That was the year we went to the Elite 8 of DIII...and I bet ur asses we would have put a scare in them. I swear to g-d I want to fast forward to next year and see how ballsy they get when we have a front line averaging 6'9. Y'all better scream your lungs out...whomever is going! Great to have you on board Great Dane Vain.
  20. very cool. I think i had brought up this glaring deficiency earlier. I am a BC season ticket holder. I got to tell you that there fans suck...44k sound like the 3k at UA games...but something just happens when the band plays the fight song...it even gets me riled up. I think this is a good move for UA....and screw teh music director....my taxes pay his salary!
  21. Unfortunately, all speculation of course, I think this is bigger than we know. I just read the game notes for this friday. In his description of the Centers, Brown basically stated that Hughes needs to be more discpline and understand that there is "structure" to a division one program. He would have started on Friday...so i am a little unnerved by this. It looks like Wyatt is healthy though...he is starting along with Hillaire, Levine, Martin and Iati. Looks like Levine is playing the two that nite...Wyatt is playing center.
  22. I was just thinking the same thing, Downtown.
  23. Ummm...reading is fundamental. I said he should get locked up because of his recruiting skills (the guys are talented) and that a $ienaty coach would lose w/ this bunch. Inference being if he is a good coach...he should win. On recruiting alone, he is a solid head coach. That was my point. here is an excerpt. "This guy can flat out recruit. Lock him up! "
  24. Will someone get a President in place so McElroy can offer Brown an extension. He really would have to be a terrible coach to lose w/ these 6 guys (Zoellner/Jordan) plus Levine, Wilson, Iati, Hughes, and Martin (not to forget the others.) Damn...that is a talented and deep team that will be together for two years. That is also a large team. This guy can flat out recruit. Lock him up!
  25. More on Dyson....from the DE Rivals site. >>>>> DeGuru I know for a fact that UofD wanted Dyson bad. Again, when UofD expressed interest in Joe just as they have with others in the state, Joe and his father did not give UofD the feeling that he wanted to go there. UofD felt that they were waisting time with Joe. Being on the inside of this situation, I can understand why UofD felt this way. I am not sure what DelState was doing with respect to recruiting him, but I can see if UofD felt that they werent going to get him then DelState was probably thinking the same way. >>>> From the slam dunk site >>> Joe Dyson, a 6-9 junior, might be the second-best overall prospect in Delaware – behind, of course, Sheridan – and juniors Brian Eckman and Dexter Matthews figure to team up with senior Mitchell White in an inexperienced but talented backcourt. >>> BTW...his teammate, Sheridan is considered the best big man to come out in years from DE. He is also considered one of the best players period to come out in the past 10 years. Conisdering one of my favorites came from the state (LARON PROFIT--MARYLAND) I would say getting the second best player in the state is not too shabby. BTW...JOE D. is orignally from NY!!!
