We blew a great opportunity to impress casual fans. I went to park at 3pm and the parking area in the Dutch quad teacher lot which is almost empty on usual game days was COMPLETELY packed. I circled for a few minutes before finding a spot. What a waste.

Crook isn't the only issue, yes, but it's not necessarily all on the line too. It's possible he's getting sacked cause his awareness is non existent. He locks into receivers too much. I remember one sack he took was because he was slow to move to option 2 and 3. He's terrible, but the line is not helping him by covering up his mistakes with good protection.

You definitely sit in front of me because that was me LOL. To go out and lay an egg like this in front of the biggest crowd they will see all year and after the big donation build-up is inexcusable. It appears the HC game was not an aberration. They have a lot of injuries, a lot of players starting who should not be starting yet and lots of coaching issues. How can you not get eaten up when your DBs are playing 5-10 yards off of their men? THey were playing without Senn today and that hurthe's a good lineman and great at pulling. Crook continues to regress. He does not look comfortable, takes too much time (or the patterns take too long to develop) and really does not have a good college arm. Another great catch by Roberson is the only reason they were not shut out. What frosts me is that the opposing QB is ALWAYS better than our QB and today, a one win team had 2 QBs that were better than our starter. 2016 season anyone?? Hah cool. This game is comical. I can't even be mad, all I'm doing is laughing. I agree, we aren't winning another game all year. This season has been a terrible disappointment. We are regressing at an exponential rate. Every game is worse than the last. Can't wait for basketball.

High school track meets, high school practice (when free), indoor lacrosse center, indoor soccer, etc. So, so many uses. This would be a gem for the school and community. Danefan is spot on. So why would a facility like this garner no $$ for naming rights? It would, just probably not $10M is what I think he meant. More like $1/2M maybe.

A gym is part of the campus center plan in the master plan document that was linked above (page 104, #18). According to the map, it looks like it's going into the part of the campus center that is currently under construction (the campus center side closer to Fuller Rd.).

20 years was worst case scenario. I know there are facilities around the country that are historic and have been around for 50-60+ years.

Not to mention that the field house will last, what, a good 20 years? It's not going to be used as much as SEFCU/etc. so if you consider 2 naming rights deals, it'll pretty much be paid for by just the naming rights deals (if they are say $10M) by the end of it's lifetime...even BEFORE state money. (if I'm following ya'lls conversation correctly)

Fully agreed. However, I find it hard to imagine that we can stretch $10M like that. Reno SEFCU and endow a bunch of scholarships? The scholarships alone will add up REAL quick IMO unless it's like 1 per our major teams. But I agree with you. Future hope is that we gut SEFCU and start from near-scratch and play games at HVCC's gym while that's going on (TUC is too big). Their gym is not that bad, IMO.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Without any inside knowledge..I think the view at the time was that the original deal was probably a bit generous. And inflation has been a bit lower..closer to 2% annually. However..the product is certainly better now. In the 7 DI years before the deal there was 1 total championship between MBB and WBB. In the 9 years since there have been 8. That's crazy. To think that in the 10 years or whatever that I've been a fan we have 5 mens championships and what, 4?, for the women? Insane.

Yes, no issues here calling it Casey Stadium. I'll probably never call it Tom and Mary Casey's Stadium...but the contribution will be noted in the historical annals of UAlbany sports.

Lets point out that the university has an entire group of people who do fundraising. If this is a very large donation, which it sounds like it, I'm sure it was going on prior to Mark's arrival. He deserves a ton of credit for turn around on the athletics, but credit will likely be due to the foundation and fundraising staff that have been working this for years (assuming that if its this big, its something that takes years to development and agree to). While true it's also possible that he was the 'missing piece' that sealed the deal and after they saw the work he's been doing they said, "You know what? It's time. Let's pay UAlbany!" Credit goes to everyone

Not sure the donation amount will be announced...perhaps will need a FOIL request.
