  1. Yep, I'm also in 205 and I even yelled at the field to turn that dude down. The girls voice was too high pitched and it hurt, now this guy is just too loud. The music was also bad at some points.
  2. There were huge signs for everything. They can't handhold people lol.Maybe it was near the Beer Garden sign at the SEFCU.. It was a good start for a crappy weather game. People stayed pretty well in the rain. Once the lights went out people bailed. Heard it was a computer timer glitch. Love the uniforms and helmets...and it was cool to see the guy propose to his girlfriend, very neat someone would do that at BOFO. Not sure if the attendance was announced but we heard sales around 6k. Not sure if you're calling me blind or what... There was absolutely ZERO signage telling me where to go from the SEFCU steps near the Fallon Field enterance. I forgot my season ticket stub, but as a student, I didn't care as I get let in for free due to my student ID. Then I just go sit in my normal seat. I came up to the box office on the Fallon Field side (north) and there was a hand written sign taped to a cone saying for students to go to the south end of the building to swipe in. I got to the south end and didn't see a single sign telling me where the student ticket table was. I asked the girl at will call and she pointed aimlessly somewhere behind her. So I went to the next table, which ended up being the food vendor's table for people who don't have meal plans (more on that in a bit). They had no clue either, so I finally went inside the 'pregame' area and went to get food and found out because I didn't have student meal plan I had to go back to Table #2 and pay there, then come back to the buffet tents to get food. Don't know if I missed this because I was so focused on figuring out where the student ticket table was or what, but I didn't see any signs saying to pay at the Sodexo table first before entering IF you didn't have a meal plan. I did hear other people mumbling and trying to figure out where to go, so I guess I wasn't the only one. While back at the Sodexo table I saw James and asked him where the student ticket table was and he told me where. It was INSIDE the pregame area (not before it - which I found odd - why not put it right next to Will Call?). No other signs up to that point. Then, after getting my ticket finally, I went to the buffet tents to get food (the burger and pulled pork was excellent). I felt like a chicken with it's head cut off, walking back and forth. Again, something for them to build on. -------------------------------- As for the game itself, Crook looked excellent. Those back corner endzone throws were things of beauty. The competition sucked, so we'll see how we look against JMU. I saw the tent and sign next to the South Box Office that said Student Tickets. Right at the south box office? That explains it, I didn't go to the box office since I knew I was looking for a table/tent. Hence why I asked the girl at will call, who herself had no idea.

  4. Also, the pregame buffet was very nice however the school needs to do better with signs, etc. because I had no idea where the student ticket table was until I talked to James himself.
  5. Dude....seeing these alternate jerseys in person...they are BEAUTIFUL. Just wish the helmet had Damian on it instead of 'UAlbany'.
  6. Looks like we're going to have some pretty crappy weather for the game (probably in the 2nd half)...me so sad. I was hoping for a nice 80* sunny day like today.
  7. This is good. Those types of start-up programs are big right now. I recently worked for a company based in the CD that owns a building used for this type of work (aka an incubator). Good for the tech sector, and will continue to keep Albany on the map so to speak as a technology center. Albany taking part in such initiatives is good stuff.
  8. This kind of falls into this weekend...Pep Rally tomorrow at 6PM w/ free pizza for first 700 students. Hopefully a ton of students get pumped and come to the game...although I don't think we've had an issue with opening day crowds since BOFO opened yet.
  9. Worst part about them scoring? The stupid canon. Scares me every time. So dumb. What do canons have to do with Bulls?
  10. Not a good way to start the second half. This is going to be a blood bath. Guess you guys were right.
  11. The mostly finished bowl is nice but I'll take BOFO over this stadium. The one thing I will say is that they have a TON of concessions. Lines moved VERY fast. Never that fast at BOFO.
  12. Rough game. Don't see many UAlbany fans...even when walking up to the stadium. We're getting our clocks cleaned on the run. Can't stop a nose bleed. Why is Gontarek playing defense? Announcer said number 2 was called for a pass interference on an attempted TD in the back of the end zone before halftime.
  13. Do you have TWC as your cable provider? If so, you can watch it online.
  14. I'm going with the following, for S&G's: @ UB - L vs URI - W @ JMU - L vs Duquesne - W @ HC - W vs Maine - W vs Nova - L @ Richmond - L @ Delaware - W @ UNH - L @ SB - W
  15. Hard to build a rabid fan base for football up there. I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I can't see the avg fan getting amped about college football in the northeast. Let alone FCS I hope I'm wrong though. Should be no reason not to. I used to not care about college ball (FB or BB) but my brother took me to some games and now I follow UA as much as I do the Jets, Heat. Helps that I go to school here and feel a calling to support my school lol. We are the only D1 FB show within a 2.5hr radius. We have this market cornered so to speak. The Albany metro area (according to Wikipedia) has 1.17 million residents. You're telling me we can't find 10,000 football fans (casual or NFL diehards) and get them into college ball by being successful over the next few years? I do. I think we can find 20,000 actually. I've never been to a Jets game. I'm not okay with paying $120 for one game to sit in the upper bowl (travel included). I'd rather spend $90 and get SEASON tickets at UA. I'm sure we can sell the community on that eventually. We aren't born fans, we develop into them. We will never be Alabama or Auburn, but there is no reason why (if we challenge for the playoffs/championship year in year out 10 years from now) that we can't sell out our stadium every game. I agree with the sentiment..but worth pointing out that there are actually 3 FBS teams within a 2hr drive of the campus..Cuse, Army and UMass. And that's ignoring FCS schools like Marist, Colgate, Cornell and Holy Cross that are all within 2.5hrs. No DI football competition in the greater capital region though. Depends how you drive I guess lol. I wasn't giving exact figure. Point is, you have to go 100 miles+ in any direction to find another D1 team. That's a large area that is just ours.

  17. Worst thing is some anonymous weirdo liked it, giving her a platform to stand on.
  18. I say stay in the CAA for 15-20 years, get REAL good in this league (with top notch facilities). Develop traditions, a rabid fanbase and a level of excellence (where we compete for the playoffs year in year out like we do in BB) and then see what the cards hold.
  19. A month? Man, I'd kill to have time off like that (one of my biggest bucket list items is driving through almost every state). Even with my limited vacation time, I've driven to FL 3 times (Tampa/Miami), Springfield MO, Charlotte NC like 4 times, Harrisonburg VA like 20 times, and then have criss crossed the Northeast (from Philly to Boston, NYC to Buffalo) more times than I can count. Driving does get a bit old and these days I need some REAL incentive to trek more than an hour or two. Only reason why I'm going to the Buffalo game is a previous engagement in the area and also cause I have friends willing to go. If it was just me, I'd probably watch it on TV.
  20. I'll take some pics if I remember from the inside on Thursday when I have class on campus again. The west construction site is MUCH bigger. And currently has a crane.
