  1. Thanks. Thought it could be a prime coat, but wasn't so sure since the scaffolding was removed.
  2. A bit OT but I noticed in recent pics of the campus/podium that the Carillon tower is green. What's up with that?
  3. Excited to see Bob Ford coach in this league. If anyone can find a way to win against these talented teams, it's him.
  4. any idea what those white boxes contain in the visitor and south end-zone areas? There are a lot of them.
  5. Are there updates? I haven't been paying attention to the other boards.
  6. No comments on the loss? Couldnt watch the game but kept track of the score through the espn app. Looked like we made a good run but ran out of gass
  7. I think most of us would love for every team to have access to Class A facilities. They deserve them. I do believe that UA needs to allocate the finite dollars disproportionately towards the sports that have the greatest ROI (or potential ROI) and those sports are Football, Basketball and Lacrosse/Field Hockey. Get those sports into Class A facilities first and as they say "a rising tide lifts all ships". We're just not there yet. BTW- SBU has Class A Baseball facilities in no small part due to a large donation by an MLB alum. GD'87....get a good job or hit the lotto and get us some nice baseball facilities!
  8. For some reference on costs and impact, UB completed a mix of minor renovation and fan experience upgrades 2 years ago for $5M+, very much like you are thinking of, which contributed greatly to a noticable increase in average attendance to the tune of 1000/game: http://www.buffalo.e...i_upgrades.html The sound, lighting and structural work was funded through the university’s critical maintenance budget [structural work on the arena's ceiling cost $1M]. The $2.4 million cost of the video scoreboard, end-zone scoreboards, courtside tables and control room was financed with private donations. I feel like they would need to raise the height of the roof at SEFCU to accommodate something like that.
  9. G: Massive donation by a loaded alum and complete all of the above
  10. Seconding what D96 said, it doesn't look that unusual to me. Seems about on par with NFL fields. The blue line east will be the team plus staff; blue line west will be filled with cheerleaders and marching band (my guess). I bet during game day it wont seem so far away. My buddy has Falcons season tickets in the mid-field area and I go to at least 2-3 games per year. The distance from the field at the 50 looks about the same (The Ga. Dome was built to be a multi-purpose stadium)
  11. I got the impression they were renovating the seating that is already there, in front of the Phys Ed building.
  12. Why does it look like the ALB logo is facing North/South instead of East/West...and why isn't it horizontally centered?
  13. It's on the 50, but it looks like it's facing the wrong way. Must be another optical illusion.
  14. We are so far behind SB, it's sickening. Bing isn't much lower than us and they don't even have Football.
  15. Breaking ground on the track facilities this Wednesday http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=207581660
  16. Hofstra is SBU's Siena. Pretty shameful and short-sighted that they (possibly) blocked them. Not thrilled with making the move without SBU, but being a full-sport member of CAA is a nice upgrade for us. As long as we have the same commitment to dominate that conference like we've done in the AE, I am all for it.
  17. AH, of course it stops at 1pm. Done purposefully, perhaps? Don't want to give it away just yet?
  18. Yay! I'm guessing visitor side and scoreboard will follow. Upper deck goes up when the interior fixtures are complete, right? Nice shot of the stadium from the practice field tweeted by UA Sports
  19. Back to the stadium...is that glass that they're lifting with the big crane?
