  1. I watched their one loss to FBS Eastern Michigan and it was a cruel finish. They were up 1 with 15 second left and punting. They had the punt blocked and returned for a touchdown on the last play of the game.
  2. I don't fully understand the anti-juco thing. Our last two really good PGs were both Jucos - Singletary and DJ Evans. Two of the starters on our last two NCAA teams were jucos. Some are good, some aren't. I don't know that there's that much difference with four year guys. Antonio Rizzuto probably can't wait to leave CT. He went into this tournament shooting 7-16 from three and then went 1-14 this weekend.
  3. Funny, before the season people were talking about him being a redshirt candidate. You never know. He's been steady and tough. I'm a fan as well. 29 threes last night and 14 today.
  4. Hank only does things he's capable of. Hansen is trying to do things he's not capable of. At least right now. That negates some of the good things he does on defense. At some point, we'll hopefully figure out that our good offensive possessions are the ones where we're patient and run through our sets. The bad ones are the ones where we run around like a headless chicken and chuck up ill-advised threes.
  5. This! Jojo Anderson doesn't need to fly around SEFCU in a cape and vanquish bad guys, just hold down the fort for a some stretches. At least in the beginning, hopefully. Michael Kelly of the Gazette is reporting Lulka doesn't have a high ankle spring and could be back a little sooner than expected.
  6. It's not saying much but last year's game with Oneonta was much closer than this one and Potsdam is a lot better than Oneonta. So much for my "Rian Carter might get some time in this game" theory.
  7. Name the Potsdam basketball player drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1970's.
  8. The game notes list Rizzuto as the 5th starter which would have de Sousa at the PF spot. I'd be curious to see that lineup.
  9. I generally don't like this game but it comes at a pretty good time. If Lulka is going to miss a game or two, this is a good one to miss. Also, if we're going to experiment with Rian Carter getting time at the point, this would seem like a good time to try it.
  10. That is a big deal! Great to see her success. She wrote a great piece for AE Voices a couple of weeks ago - https://americaeast.com/news/2019/10/30/AEVoices-Reinhardt.aspx
  11. Saw on Twitter that Will Amica signed. PG of the future! Press release out today. Some quotes from Coach Brown: Since they've announced it, I have to think Will Amica is our only recruit for the fall signing period. We'll have two more scholarships to fill in the spring.
  12. This is more of the team I was hoping to see last Saturday. More selective with three pointing shooting. Getting the ball in the post. More of a Trey Hutcheson fan every game. Defending with urgency. Maybe de Sousa's best game. His physical skills were impressive last year but he seems to understand what's going on and anticipate things before they happen. Really like seeing him catch the ball in the post - something good happens almost every time he gets it down there. Nothing like the MAAC to cure what ails you.
  13. Current Track and Field member Cara Sherman won the 2019 Stockade-athon.
  14. Ugh. Two of Kennesaw's wins were over NAIA schools and their schedule hasn't been impressive outside of them. Monmouth was the only decent team they've played.
  15. Trey Hutcheson was playing his first college game and looked like the most experienced guy out there last night. Ahmad Clark does some things really well but I swear he takes more bad shots in one game than Mike Black, DJ Evans and Evan Singletary did in their careers. The new box score format that records + and - minutes are pretty revealing (he was -10.) He gambled on a couple of steals that lead to easy baskets as well. I can't imagine the film sessions is going to be kind. When someone hit a three early and then did that Lance Stephenson "air guitar" thing I got a bad feeling about where this team's head was. People can kill our bigs and I get it, but our guards just chucked up a lot of shots without running any kind of offense and without anyone else getting touches. They made it awful easy for Lehigh to get the ball into Kamick. Doherty made a nice entry pass. Overall, the freshman were solid. In some respects, this isn't that shocking. Lehigh looked like a team that had already played a game and we looked like it was our first game of the season. We'll see how we adjust.
  16. We'll see. The Gazette today says Lulka and Hansen will likely start in the front court. The story also says the coaching staff has a lot of opinions bout how to play together so you're right, there's going to be some experimentation. At some point, I'd like to see what a combination of de Sousa, Hansen and Lulka can do together. Hansen's outside shooting should create some space for either Malachi or Lulka to post up. Is it 7 PM yet?
  17. Game notes are up. Listed starters are Clark, Healy, Rizzuto, de Sousa and Lulka.
  18. Pick and Roll came out with their Top 10 Aussie players in college basketball. Some guys we know on that list - https://pickandroll.com.au/ncaa-men-all-australian-preseason-top-10/
  19. Offer to Demarcus Morris, 6'8 small forward playing at Barton CC.
  20. Not super surprised Hank won't be in the starting lineup but am somewhat surprised he isn't in the regular playing group. Wondering if this means French has taken a big step or there's just a lot of options in the front court.
  21. In retrospect, this loss isn't quite as bad as it seemed in September. Monmouth is now 7-2 and laid waste to #4 Kennesaw State over the weekend.
