This was a fun game when it happened but I'm fine with it sitting. I suspect Siena has to protect its brand by not playing this game for a while the way things have been trending.

Players leaving for the NBA
Dane Pound replied to Dane Pound's topic in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track
Not Albany related but RJ Hampton going to play pro ball in Australia is interesting. He was the #5 recruit in this year's class and could have gone to one of the blue bloods if he wanted. Kind of makes sense, he'll get paid this year and can work on his game full time. -
You're right. I guess I thought there might be another commitment since we have another scholarship open.
-
Ended yesterday. Just curious since there was no announcement and I believe we have two scholarships open.

Clark hardly played his first year, then started, then went to coming off the bench. I'm on the outside, but as far as I can tell he's handled all that pretty well and I have to respect that. I don't think it's always easy for young guys to deal with those ups and downs and he's done it well. Couldn't help reading about Anderson's health problems at Nevada and thinking about Travis Charles. Both Anderson and Travis seemed to learn lessons at young age that most of us don't learn until we're older - things can go away quickly so appreciate them while you have them. I don't know how Nevada got a guy Anderson to walk-on to their program but I'm glad he's headed here. This should be a group that's hungry to win. Anderson was a good player on a NAU team that struggled in the Mountain West and our young guys took their lumps last year.

Good story in the Gazette about Jojo Anderson coming to Albany - https://dailygazette.com/article/2019/05/09/healthier-and-stronger-anderson-joins-ualbany-men-s-basketball

They wouldn't be highlights if there were misses! Really great size for a guard or small forward. Adewumni spent a year at Houston before going to Juco.

Uff. Seems like it could be written in the sky by now.

Morgan State hired a coach who: "Throughout his career, has built a tremendous reputation for his ability to recruit outstanding talent and developing his student-athletes on and off the court." And that coach is Kevin Broadus.

It'll be interesting to see where Jerotic plays. From the little we saw at the scrimmage he seemed more like a mobile PF than a wing. Normally, it would seem like a good year to take a transfer who has to sit a year.

With a JUCO or HS player you have to guess how they'll translate to this level. Nice thing about Anderson is that he's proven at the D1 level with solid numbers. Really glad Clark has stayed as well. Along with Anderson, Healy, Rizzuto and De Sousa is a really promising group with a lot of options.

Was hoping I'd come here and read about Jojo Anderson committed over the weekend. Other than the visit, it's been quiet recruiting-wise considering we have two ships open.

Stony Brook

Friday night, big game, electrical storm. Nice job with the weather Stony Brook. This is exactly why they shouldn't host the tourney next week. -
We have a visit scheduled from Jojo Anderson according to twitter. A Nevada transfer who looks to be leaving after the coaching change there. Nice looking PG who would be a welcome addition.

McCullough committed to Campbell today.

Zion coming to Albany? Maybe. According to Verbal Commits we've offered Juco guard Zion Morgan. Formerly of UNLV.

James Jones to St. Johns?
Dane Pound replied to Dane Pound's topic in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track
I can see why they would want him, not sure why he'd want to go since they seem like a mess right now. Jones has been at Yale for going on 20 years and has been terrific the last couple seasons. -
Although I hear Dane96 is in the mix too.

Game 1: MBB @ Iona 11/09: 8:00pm

Lots of chatter about Tim Cluess leaving Iona for St. Johns. -
Looks like we lucked out. Nick Fruscio announced on Twitter that he will not be entering his name in this year's NBA draft.
-
That is incredibly awesome.

Thanks guys. It's been quite a long, crazy trip but well worth it. #purplefam.

A couple of other solid midmajors involved - Detroit, Sam Houston State and Eastern Michigan.
