I was surprised to see Jen Schumacher in a story about the UAlbany Roboshow. Students unleash robots' potential-TU

Thanks for kind words Dane96. You're probably giving me too much credit though. I think Albany athletics just attracts a higher caliber of fan... In fact, we're like the Gonzaga of the...nevermind, no we aren't.

I don't see it as a problem. Scheduling seems like more of a factor to me in terms of the size of the crowd. I think most Siena fans will be optimistic because of the new coach and will go out to the game especially early in the season. Now that they've lost one of these games I'd expect a little more passion out of their side and no more quotes like "it's just another game of the schedule." No matter what happens at Siena in terms of transfers I expect this game to be tough.

LAx gets Virginia
Dane Pound replied to GreatDanes06's topic in Spring Sports-Baseball, Lacrosse, Softball, Track + Golf
Nice to see the NCAA bracket that it's just listed as "Albany". It took three years to lose the (N.Y.). In looking at the UA sports page of the 8 sports Albany sponors in the spring they won championships in 3 and finished 2nd in one (golf). -
I was wondering if "leaving the door open" meant they weren't filling the scholarship this year.

One of the places they are talking about Rowe going is SUNY-Artic Circle(Plattsburgh). In the Portmouth Herald they mentioned that Albany and Bing passed UNH in just a few years at D1. I'd guess Harrision at Hartford is thinking the same thing about his situation although as Reeder said he's brought in a very good class this year.

There was a short story in today's paper about Dyson. He's transferred to the Globe Insitute of Tech in NYC for academic reasons. It quoted Brian DePasquale as saying the door was open for his return.

Albany 2 Bing 1 after 1. From the score it sounds like this is being played at Bing's pace. Here's the championship update link-Albany-Bing BTW-Happy Birthday GreatDanes84!

Luke Bonner...any chance he dons the Purple n Gold
Dane Pound replied to Dane96's topic in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track
A lot of the posters on the AE board think Bonner is going to BU. I don't know if they are just guesses or they know something. To add more to the transfer list is Steve Hailey from BC has announced he'll transfer. I don't know if the staff still has a conncection with the Eagles but Hailey was a top 150 recruit in high school. Since we're wishing Konimba Diarra has announced he's transferring from South Florida. He played on Jamar's high school team and is 6'10. Diarra link. -
Awards for AE Lacrosse were announced. Daquino, Thomaon, Resetarits, McSweeny and Rae were all first team. Jordan Levine and Steve Ammann were on the all-rookie team. I'm not sure I understand the Player of the Year selection-UMBC junior attackman Brendan Mundorf. Merrick Thomson lead the nation in points per game with Luke Daquino 6th and they give POY to Mundorf? Thomson had more goals that Mundorf, Daquino had more assists and they both had more points than Mundorf.

Is President Hall the right Choice for Atthletics?
Dane Pound replied to Ruler's topic in General Danes Stuff
Back when Hall was hired I polled Utah State fans about him. Most agreed he was generally pro-athletics. During his time there the Aggies moved up to the WAC and did major renovations to their football stadium-all steps we'd like taken. I'd give him more than 3 months or so to see what he's going to do. -
That's the dopey thing about how they figure out your graduation rates. Even if someone leaves and graduates at another school it counts against you. I don't think transfers (Juco and otherwise) count to the full amount either even when they graduate. Looking back I think Jamal Hughes probably affected it negatively because he was not eligable to play in the spring and then never came back.

It seems the only reason there was news about Siggers signing was because his JC coach told someone he'd signed. Other than the institution announcing the LOI I'm not sure how we would find out. Maybe they're waiting for another letter to announce the whole class together?

Wednesday afternoon

Maybe I did it wrong but my boss wants to know why I should get out of work early because you have a proctologist appointment. -
The old guys are in trouble if Brown is coaching the Rowdies. I'd guess his plan would be to press and run alot and wear us down. BTW-if Hutch, Mookie, Wyatt or Q are going to grad school they count as alumni

I didn't realize former Albany AD Milt Richards had resurfaced. He's about as far from Albany as possible at Cal State Stanislaus and according to this story is in a weird situation. Heat on AD to make switch-Modesto Bee

If the Rowdies recruit well this fall maybe we can have a friendly Alumni-Rowdies basketball game sometime. For the alumni, UA is only a 10 minute drive from 3 hospitals.

I picture Covington as a 5 against the conference's smaller centers but that's just guessing. Like you said with Dyson gone there's not alot of depth up front with Zoellner, Wilson, Connelly and Covington. Maybe Levi with some time at forward. Quite an arsenal of guys in the first 3 spots. Iati, Lillis, Jamar, Lou, Levi and Siggers. Alot more guys to press and run without anyone running out of gas.

¢M??|t we've seen that class sounds right. Alum73 might know more but it's interesting that McElroy said it was the program's best recruiting class. Considering last year's class, not to mention the Levi and Jamar class that's saying alot. According to Texashoops Siggers is 6'4, 195. Here's a picture

I'll second that. Great Job GoDanesGo.
