  1. Pretty sure the UA ticket office is selling tickets. You can check with them at 442-DANE. If not the Boston University ticket office is 617-353-GoBU. America East Ticket and Championship Info. UAlbany Ticket Office. Trip Advisor Boston. Visit Boston Website. Mapquest-Driving Directions. Amtrak.
  2. I'm not sure what you can even say about that game. The only positives I see are: No one was injured. Kenny Macalla scored his first career points at the line. That's about it and that's stretching it. Macalla actually went 2-2 from the line. Without his free throws the Danes were 2 of 8 from the line. They went gracelessly from the largest margin of victory to the largest margin of defeat. Somewhere during the second half I was secretly hoping the radio feed would give out. I guess Vermont has regrouped with Coppenrath.
  3. Was reading a story the other day about Jason McKreith from Schenectady. Next year is his senior year at Rice. I realize not every coach schedules a home game for his seniors but in terms of local interest that would be a terrific OOC game for us next year. Especially with Jordan on the active roster.
  4. They seem to be having trouble with their site. It was working this morning. Peterson does come from a small school but she made her mark playing AAU ball over the summer against better competition. Hopefully she works out. There are not many Hutchesons out there. As far as James goes, yes, she did score 25 pts a game but that was in Canada. That's only about 16 pts a game American.
  5. Really disapointing loss. That was not the same team we've seen the last 10 games or so this year. No fire and a ton of easy baskets missed. Really could have solidified our position at 4 or 5 with a chance to move up. Now it's still a fight for fifth and no chance to go higher.
  6. Mikus led her team to another playoff win with 30 points last night. Mikus Story.
  7. UAlbany women unable to light fire-TU. Danes seek upset of depleted UVM-TU. Vermont to face Albany-Burlington Free Press.
  8. Cats visit hot Albany-Burlington Free Press.
  9. As UAlum72 mentioned to me during I think the Army game. It takes around 2000+ people in the RACC to really create a fun atmosphere. Any potential fan who walks into the RACC for their first game into that kind of atmosphere if going to want to come back because it feels like an event and not just a couple of hundred alumni sitting there and screaming at the refs. One of the reason the New Hampshire game was so disappointing was you had alot of potential fans and gave them no reason to come back-at least with their play. As far as students go the only thing I can suggest is that they clearly mark a student section and encourage students to sit there and make it fun. Otherwise they naturally migrate to the chairback seats. They'll sit there for a few minutes and then a season-ticket holder will have one of the staff throw them out of their seats. I've seen this happen a variety of times and I cringe everytime I see it. I can't imagine anything that would be a student feel more hassled at a game than throwing them out of the season-ticket holders section.
  10. I was curious if there was going to be a senior day ceremony for Pipikis this year. I realize he's injured and won't be back this year but was wondering if anything was planned. Too bad the last women's game is the same weekend as the AE tourney as I'll miss their last home game. Hopefully I can catch them at the tourney.
  11. You and everyone certainly allowed and encouraged to offer your opinions. Prof and Scototile had a difference of opinion over Iati that goes back to some previous posts. Everyone here is passionate about their Danes and things occasionally get heated. I hope it doesn't discourage you from posting.
  12. Welcome to the Board! I'm glad you found us. If you have any questions or problems feel free to contact me at danefan1@localnet.com. Look forward to seeing you post and hope you enjoy the board. DP
  13. In terms of minutes played Iati should be a junior next year.
  14. Sounds like Bauman may have an inured foot according to the story. Late Aliquippa run sends Freeport home in WPIAL quarterfinals-Leader Times.
  15. It's been a long and sometimes painful season but Saturday was a real treat. Both the men and women's team win by double digits as the students torment Howie the Hawk and then sing "Happy Birthday" to Jamar Wilson. Between games in comes the men's track team fresh from their victory in the AE championship. Then on Sunday a big win over previously undefeated Missou in baseball. Best weekend for Danes fan in a while.
  16. Old Dog71 I'm glad you enjoy the site and that it augments your enjoyment of the games you attend. I have to admit considering the season(s) we've had I'm happy with the participation on the board and that so many people have found us. One of the best things about it is we that we have everyone from students to long-time fans and alumni as members. Hopefully as teams continue to improve so will our membership. Thanks, DP
  17. To GreatDanes84 post about the Hartford AD it sounds like sour grapes on Hartford's part. I remember them bringing their cheerleaders before but their mascot too? I'm not exactly sure what they expected-maybe that we'd start rooting for Hartford. I doubt our cheerleaders would get a better reception at Hartford. Two great games last night. We're undefeated when the Earthtones sing the national anthem this year. I was surprised to read this morning that was the largest margin of victory we've had over a D1 team-good stuff.
  18. There was a story in the print edition of the TU but I couldn't find it online either. I've posted a link to the Troy Record story on the game.
  19. UAlbany defense thwarts Hartford -TU. Danes put it all together in win over Hartford-Troy Record
  20. I think the fact that they're thinking that way at all shows the confidence this team has lacked the last few years. The tourney is Maine's to lose just as it was last year. If through some miracle Maine is knocked out (again) I think they have a good shot against anyone else in the league. Five games left including today for them to position themselves. Home against Hartford (3rd), home against Vermont (tied 10th), at NU (tied 6th), at BU (2nd) and home against UMBC (tied 10th). Win today would be Billy Fucillo-sized toward catching Hartford as they have games at BingU and against Maine still on their schedule.
  21. Lillis had 9 of his points in the fourth quarter to help give his team the win. Dunk, dunk, whoosh, Dowling drops Hoover-Des Moines Register.
  22. Women cast eager eyes at 'Big Dance'-TU.
  23. Kind curious Patch. I remember Jamar Wilson played at a pretty high level private school compared to public schools. Is Dyson at a similar kind of school? I know Bauman, Lillis and Brent Wilson are all at public schools.
  24. Do they not do a preseason coaches poll for baseball? I haven't seen one and couldn't find one of the AE site anywhere. Speaking of Danes baseball Steve Checkerfield was giving a speech over HVCC the other day. He's in the minor league system of the Astros (I think).
