Gutty win. Damn. Colgate was the preseason pick to win the Patriot. I'll take it. I -

Guy also runs it well... He was 9th in the country in total offense last year, Colgate was 4th overall. Our defense has struggled but their O is pretty good too. -

Complain about the D and they come up with a stop and then another turnover. Funny that Andre Martin has been running the ball for us. He's a true freshman. Hopefully Osbourne is OK. -

The question with the defense so far is "are we going to give us a big run or a big pass?" Argh. -
Some good weekend road games at Vermont and at Hartford for those looking to travel. I find the SBU game at the end of the season kind of anti-climatic . The game order seems just about exactly the same as last year with UML substituted for BU.

You can file it under "excuse making" but this team had more going on in the preseason than any I can remember. New stadium, head coach announcing his retirement, speculation about the new head coach, web cam being down for a long time, etc. Distraction might not be a valid explanation but a lot of the details Albany football usually gets right they got wrong against the Dukes. Add to that Duquesne might not be such a bad team, we'll see. Two years a ago we were a pretty good team who lost their opener on the road against a pretty bad Colgate team. We bounced back from that loss and won some games. -

There's a lot to find fault with in that game. I'm more concerned with the defense. Also considering the quote about us having the same looks came from an offensive player. A freshman QB completing 75% of his passes in his first start is no way to begin. -
Yahoo says Lewis will be visiting on Sept 19th. And...Lewis commits to Mercer on his visit yesterday. Not the greatest weekend to be a Great Dane so far.

I think our defense had a bad game... He's pretty good but we sucked I think we actually outgained them but doubling their penalty yards and 3 turnovers aren't going to do much for us. I guess we found that adding that CAA patch to our uniforms doesn't give us any superpowers. Reminded me a lot of the Colgate opener from 2011. A game we were too good to lose until we lost it. -

Schnikes! In his first ever college start, Dillion Buechel's QB rating is 191.3 against our defense. -

We should maybe consider getting into September before giving up all hope. -

I know it's not true but it felt like forcing the Dukes to punt was out first stop all game. -

Good to see this get done. Today's TU story points out that he'll be close to two decades at UA by the end of this deal.

That's excellent news. Of course, if free throw percentages start dropping we'll know who to blame. -

Drew Smith might be able to get some reps at QB the way things are going for the Bills. Excellent that they're both on the rosters. They'll go head to head on Thursday night. -
I see that Kyle Green will not be going to Temple. We had reportedly recruited him before the Temple offer.

Nate Gehring is visiting Pepperdine. That's probably not a great development for us. Sounds like Wheeler Baker might visit Albany in September. Hopefully he picks a weekend with a nice new football stadium opening.
