  1. Horton can't shoot nor hit from the line. Perry has been active and Hutch a solid game.
  2. Thought I would start a new thread for any GG news whether it's a firing or extension LOL.
  3. Crickets on the board here I see due to lack of interest. Danes back to their usual selves so far, 3 plays punt, 4 plays punt, 3 plays punt, rinse, repeat. Is it GG last game, that is the question.
  4. That was ugly, ladies lose by 13 to Merrimack, a team transitioning from D2 to D1 after the dominant win vs Hofstra.
  5. Found Brent Hank is playing semi-pro basketball in western Australia in their NBL1 league.
  6. Just for ships and giggles. So far Cam Healy has played 7 min and 11 min for C Michigan and totaled 3 pts. Kellon Taylor starts for McNeese St but only played 18 min in each game, total is 9 pts, and CJ Kelly played in only one of two games for UMASS for 15 min and 8 pts.
  7. At least one UA basketball team can be competitive with a CAA team. Ladies up 25 with 4 min left vs Hofstra.
  8. Thanks for Amica update. Was worried if healthy, no playing time when most got in. Give the kid props for returning after little PT last year and coaching change.
  9. Ended up 3 of 20. At least FTs were good, 11/12. Only Amica and Shaffer didn't play I believe. Not sure if injured. If not, sounds like bench warmers all season. And if not injured, I will say the team is the healthiest in years at start of season. Always seemed like tough pre-season practices by CB had guys on the shelf early in season.
  10. What a difference from the 1st 15 min of game. This got ugly in a hurry vs a bottom CAA team. Hate to see Kentucky result coming up. 3 of 17 from three.
  11. Struggling on offense, hope it's just new guys getting used to each other. Every season opener I always hope for the 2nd coming of Jamar Wilson from one of the new guys. Can't say I've seen that tonight.
  12. Sloppy turnovers the last 2 min killed us. Great from the line though.
  13. Psyched for a new season and a new coach who may bring new ideas and style of play. Wonder if the starting lineup is pretty much set for awhile or is fluid game by game due to do many new faces. Hope Amica gets a chance to run the offense in meaningful minutes to see if he is the PG for next three years.
  14. Was just going to post that. JMU to move all 19 sports to Sunbelt effective June 2022. Usually growing pains in football moving up but they are always competitive in FBS games so they might fit in right away. Only issue is the CAA told them no CAA championships after they announce the move. That will affect most sports this winter and Spring but since football has no conference playoffs, I assume they can get an at-large bid.
  15. There is a season preview on the athletic site for the mens Bball team. Don't know who wrote it but it sounded like one of us who had felt this was one of CB's undoing: "Starting his first day on campus, Killings made it a priority to compile a coaching staff that could bring different viewpoints to the court. He did just that, assembling a staff from around the country."
  16. The UM/MSU was a fantastic game won by MSU. And you have to love the announcing by Gus Johnson. He could make the UA offense sound like a juggernaut, lol.
  17. Obviously not an NDSU, but I dont think we can be a JMU either based on location. Could a better coach and even better AD raise the program to a more respectable level? Maybe, but what is respectable? Maine has made the playoffs once since 2013. Would we be happy with that? UNH last in the playoffs in 2017. Not much consistency in either program lately. All I was saying is that running a football program in the Northeast that wins regularly, qualifies for playoffs or a bowl game most years, is not easy. But I agree, one winning season in past 8 is not acceptable. A new regime will take time to improve that record due to recruiting so .500 record may be the norm for a bit and then see where the program goes from there.
  18. Absolutely, the Northeast is not a destination for top recruits at FBS/FCS level. Just look at the FBS/FCS teams north and east of Penn St and their level of success. The Cuse can only brag of a Clemson win a few years back. BC hasn't been relevant since Flutie. UConn and UMASS are the doormats of the FBS. Rutgers has been a train wreck since moving to the Big 10. Maine and UNH have been mid level CAA. SBU has not thrived as the only D1 school on LI after Hofstra dropped football. Buffalo has shown some success lately, I will give them that, but MAC teams are not playing in a major bowl game anytime soon. Army has alot of pomp and circumstance which is great. I did not bother to list the Ivies, NEC, or Patriot. College football in the northeast is just tough sledding. The few tier one recruits are going big-time down south or Midwest. Just look at my closest D1 school to me, an hour away, is Coastal Carolina and what they have done in just 6 years at FBS level. 3/4 of their roster is from SC, NC, and GA. Kids who stay near home and but were a step below Clemson, UGA, SC, UNC talent. I agree Gatuso should go if this is a 3 or 4 win season but I don't think the next guy will find it any easier to win in the northeast on a consistent basis. FCS playoffs are nice but outside of easy matchup like CCSU, we get our butts handed to us otherwise.
  19. Tough schedule and it could get ugly fast. Alot of new pieces to gel together too. I looked back to find a similar tough OOC and 2005-06 comes to mind with Florida, UCLA, San Diego St, and VCU.
  20. Hmmm, win the face-off battle and you win games. What a great idea, lol. Why didn't they think of that sooner. But now we need to break the four game losing streak vs UVM and it starts at the face-off X.
  21. UVM has had a solid Men's basketball team for the past 20 years so I can see why UA has struggled to win regularly versus them. But come on, UVM lax does not have the level of success UA has has the past 20 years in lax and we now have lost 4 straight to them. Not acceptable.
