  1. It is real crappy so far. hope they fix it. may have to listen to fox sports radio while watching streaming video
  2. Jamar has been named Player of the Year!! Brent and K are on third team. Info on AE website
  3. Good column in Onions on The Danes. Question for the board: I have seen all season on ESPN games the Pride of the Program which features a signifcant Div. I event for each of the Div. I teams. Does anyone know what they showed for UAlbany back in November? With not much of a history in DI and no major upsets since 1999, they would have been hard pressed to find anything to show. Thanks in advance for any responses. GO DANES this weekend!!!!!!!
  4. I think we all saw this loss coming. NH has our number. But if my calculations are correct, If BU beats Hartford Sunday and Vermont beats Binghamton (NH is 8-8, BU and Hart would be 9-7, Vermont 8-8 but beat NH twice), NH is then a six seed and less likely to face us in another game unless they roll thru and get to the championship game.
  5. Game is coming in loud and clear but the Danes are in a fog letting NH hit from all over the floor. Can we please have some perimeter defense?
  6. Congrats to our beloved Great Danes on the number one seed and NIT bid. The way the season started, it looked like .500 at best because the team wasn't gelling and Wil Brown was one foot out the door. A great turnaround along with an easier schedule after the Florida and California trip and we showed that we were the preseason pick to win the AE. Coach Brown also showed how to keep the troops together and utilize a rotation that may have been unpopular with the players but works on the court. I go way back to the days when Doc Sauers roamed the sidelines (1979-1983) and NCAA bids were the norm. No one ever questioned Doc or called for his head but he was a consistant winner for 40 years. Two games under .500 last year and well over .500 this year shows that Brown is in the right direction. Lock him up now because if he pulls off a first round upset in NCAA Tourney like Vermont last year, teams will be knocking on his door from better conferences. This program should only get better and that comes from exposure which improves recruiting. But high school players like to play for the coach who recruits them and many have backed out after a coach leaves. The 4 new guys coming in look good on paper, but if Brown leaves, they may rip up their Letter of Intent. Great to have a site like this. I enjoy all the posts. Keep it up.
  7. Same problem with Fox Sports Radio but the Vermont link works. Danes were cruising along and then hit their typical dry spell to allow Vermont back in the game. They better be careful in second half.
  8. Hello all. I didn't know there was a message board for Great Dane fans (UAlbany, Class of '83). I am a big follower of Albany basketball even though I am on Long Island. Listen to all the games on the internet and watched the VCU game Friday night. By the way, the production by ESPNU was horrible compared to a ESPN or ESPN2 game. We played well in the second half even with all the turnovers and letting VCU shoot 62 % in second half. Jamar was amazing at times with some incredible moves but Lucious was absent again and Siggers was off his game. Could have been a big win but Jamar needed help. A win over Vermont clinches number 1 seed. Would be nice to win out so we are on a roll going into tournament at Binghamton. 22 and 9 has a nice ring to it on selection Sunday and should ensure at least a 15 seed. Had we beat VCU, a 14 seed was possible. Will chat again.
