  1. RGood, Will miss you tomorrow. Best of luck with your storm issues. Glad you and your family are well. A couple of suggestions which you might want to look into. If you have food spoilage from lack of power that is a reimbursable expense. Also, your tree mess may be covered (I am not sure why others are saying No, but I have had storm damage trees covered before, even a garden bush that was flattened by a falling tree---the circumstance may be different, but it does not hurt to ask your insurance people to find out. Speaking of insurance, you more than likely have some sort of deductible and I found out by accident that most home insurance deductibles are YEAR specific and not "event" specific. Home deductibles unlike Auto which is accident specific can be accrued over a years time. So if you have a $1000 deductible policy and reach $800 because of this storm, you would only need $200 more to start collecting on the next home event, even if totally unrelated to the current storm. I am certainly not wishing you any further home disasters; and I AM MOST DEFINITELY NOT AN EXPERT; but I do know that for the event deductible to apply (if your policy has this), you DO have to file a claim even if you do not collect anything. My point is when back on your feet call your agent; ask questions, do not go by what I say or whatever blog opinions you may be receiving.
  2. 99, While I agree with everything you are saying; my point is the difficulties majors face are NOT the same difficulties mid and low majors face {as the article's author claims.} Also, while majors certainly have losing player issues, they have considerable more resources to adjust . In addition, when a one bid conference loses a player the impact can be far greater and more costly in many ways as well as in winning and losing. In a one bid conference a bad shooting night, a bad bounce here and there, and sub quality officiating can cost a team an ncaa bid. Losing a player (especially a stud) in a one bid conference is significantly more damaging than losing a major player to the NBA where the team generally just reloads with another McDonald's All American.
  3. Good article and Will & UA come off very well; but I have to disagree with the author on the following: " He understands that to pull off consistency, even in a one-bid league is a monster challenge, but no more so than it is for a team from a multiple bid league. Coaches need to develop, coach and retain players. And when they don’t, they just have to regroup and march on." The challenges in multiple bid league are different than in a one bid league but definitely NOT equal. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the richer you are even more so. The ncaa says it is all about the students, but I've seen little or no evidence of this. IMHO their actions are all about helping the power conferences at expense of the smaller and especially hurting the smallest one bid conferences.
  4. I thought it was just speculation on someone's part?????? I do not remember reading anything remotely official concerning the poll??? Brutus are you out there? HELP!
  5. imho. First priority: Field house. Indoor Track and big enough for football & lacrosse practice and able to accommodate a lacrosse game for inclement weather. Second priority: Sefcu upgrades.
  6. Again, I insist I am NOT a Devante hatter; but I just do NOT see the "leader" label some have predicted? This team has needed someone to step up and be a floor leader for two+ years. The leader position has been wide open and begging for someone to take charge! Coach has repeatedly said this over and over again and even casual fans have been clamoring for an in your face Jacob Iati type. IMHO I have seen absolutely NO evidence that Devonte has been this type of player or has any hopes of becoming one. It will be a very young an inexperienced team this year, and I hope one of the newbies steps up, because I do not see Devante as much more than a role player. Does not mean a role player can not be a "leader"; but as I said I've seen no indication Devante has leader characteristics .
  7. Not a Campbell hater; but what bothered me more than his offensive struggles was his defense seemed to go south also. "Maybe" his offensive struggles were effecting his defense, but especially in the second half of conference play, his defense was no better and than anyone else on the team. And, I have not checked the #s, but I bet you will also find his rebounding declined as the season progressed.
  8. I hope the TD/baptiste thing does not become a distraction. On paper we are as good as denver defensively; probably better. We have a huge edge in goal, where denver has tried 2 or 3 with mixed results. Close D probably even, with midfield defense same if UA uses the bigger two ways. Offensively we are superior across the board and if Connor is close to 100%, we should score plenty. Even, if Connor somewhat less than 100 and denver ties him up, we have enough fire power still. My main concern is if TD struggles, the rest of the team needs to pick him up. In the yale game and to some extent last year's ¼ game vs maryland; the whole team seemed to "die", with TD struggling. WE ARE GOOD ENOUGH OFFENSIVELY AND DEFENSIVELY to compete, even if TD struggles. I hope TD dominates baptiste or at least holds his own; but if he does not, UA cannot use that as an excuse. The D needs to step-up, be stout and get the ball to the offense who needs to (quote Marr) "have fun!"
  9. AGREE. with Carcaterra, but would use Reh or Diamond as primary ball carrier and keep Patterson as 4th attack.
  10. deSousa was top 10 maybe higher New England prep-school. Rizzuto won all sorts of league/county/district awards. I think they both get significant minutes 2018-19 (IMHO.) Team "LOOKS" deep on paper; but so did they look last year. I say play them all, forget redshirting.
  11. Weather an issue tomorrow. ½ inch of rain expected morning to late afternoon. Even if rain subsides by game time, field will be wet. Do Not know if this favors one team or the other?
  12. IMHO. I like #2. Like our match up with Richmond (with or without Connor). Think we got the easier bracket overall. Do Not fear ND or Den. Finally got some respect from the ncaa.
  13. When I last checked, YES was an EXTRA charge ($10 per month I believe) on DirectTv. I do not know about the others, but I found direct not much of a saving especially once you started adding things like local news maybe. Also, remember you STILL need to pay for an internet connection to SOMEBODY.
  14. Last point. I went to the hartford game last week and Connor even though a 1/2 step slow looked GOOD. Like many of you, I do not understand why the knee was left un-wrapped yesterday. It was obvious to all 1500 (disappointing) in attendance and very obvious to umass that Connor could NOT perform . A lot of opinions on whether a 60-70-80% or whatever Connor can help the team or not. But if you ARE going to send him out there (and I am not a coach or medic or trainer), I do not understand why he was sent out yesterday not properly wrapped and prepared. Also, I maybe be wrong; but it looked to me sitting directly behind the UA bench, that Connor took himself out of the game. Whether he did pull himself or it was coach's decision; it breaks the heart. Quality kid. One of the best ever. If healthy he would have certainly broke the all time scoring record.
  15. I think coach makes a very valid point here. Quint K. is constantly knocking the AmEast and saying UA can't get better because they do not get good competition in that league. I think last nights game and {perhaps the umbc loss} helps UA get better. In lacrosse at least, I have always felt the AmEast has been a top half conference. Good coaches historically and currently. Every team in the league has made at least one ncaa appearance (except new lowell who has been to d11 many times) and has had two teams in, multiple times. Maybe the league does not get the best players, but IMHO top to bottom the league is as tough as MOST.
  16. Justin did have 4 assists; most on the team yesterday. He only took 3 shots, but setting people up is really his main job. But I agree with you, good to see Kyle with a spark. Ever since Connor's injury, McClancy has been pretty much shut down. Getting double & triple teamed. Seems to be attracting all those who use to key on Connor.
  17. TD called for a push. early in the fourth I believe; otherwise perfecto.
  18. 2018, Do you know the official status of Owen Hill. Lax Power has him committed to UA; but Inside Lacrosse has no listing for him?
  19. At some point, I want to go back and take a look at the AmEast--Espn announcement and blog, if I can find them. I am local and use espn for road games and replays of home games. Other than tonight, espn+ will not really come into play until fall. Something is not kosher about this and most likely there is NOT anything we can do about it. But this summer, I plan on looking into it. Plan on contacting media relations @ UA and someone @ AmEast. Is AmEast and or Great Danes TV dead??? Pretty poor quality before espn got involved, but FREE at least. Anyone with insights into all of this or anyone like to get involved; input appreciated.
  20. Told a MtMary recruit last week he was NOT going anywhere. Looks like a typical $iena high integrity guy?
  21. Anyone know if we are suppose to go to our account to pay for our tickets or is it automatic. I thought Nate said the money would be automatically drawn form account on file and tickets emailed for printing? I thought this was to happen Sunday after clinching? So far it has not happened. I hate to bug Nate again after having so many issues with the order already. Unless any knows for sure, I will wait a day or so and pay manually if auto pay does not work??
  22. Any chance he reconsiders based on what he has been seeing? Or is he 100% gone no matter what?
  23. Was in Hartford yesterday. Good game all around. LIKED what they did and how they used Connor. Hartford is not as bad as their record shows. Was senior day and they had a punch honored before the game. I am very surprised they are not in AmEast tournament. They are only two years removed from beating us and winning the AmEast bid and most of those kids were back this year after an injury filled 2017. But I thought UA played very well in all aspects; or maybe Hartford is as bad as their record??????? Speaking of the AmEast; I thought the AmEast had a 5-7 year contract with espn. How could they all of a sudden start charging $4 per month. Is the AmEast network now defunct??? Looked for the "replay" or the highlites on AmEast network --non existent. I guess you can get a 7 day free trial, which I won't do until fall when basketball begins again. I also enjoyed watching woman's volleyball's road games on the network the last couple of years. I will absolutely pay the $4 per month come fall, but still think there is a preach of contract here???????
