When I read the announcement it read that espn3 would still be free if you have ESPN. The 4.99 appears to be a standalone service

I think they should all get a stipend or some living expenses, provided that each sport gets the same amount equally and its from a general fund divided up from NCAA revenue, which is ENORMOUS.
