  1. I hope this is a band that would be relevant to students and not say, some sort of classic rock cover band...
  2. Looks like according to his Twitter Shanley transferred to Bryant
  3. Looks like Croskey is our starting RB and Martin the starting FB?
  4. Wow. 3000? For soccer ? Was there an event or a giveaway ? Why the big attendance ?
  5. So what happened to Steve Shanley? He was so highly touted out of high school (three star recruit, etc). He was redshirted last year. Is he still with the program?
  6. That's a better picture. I like this better than what they currently have as their main uniform. Just was hoping for more on the helmet.
  7. I think that's a big Nike thing..doing the small mascot name across the front. I've seen it on a bunch of other Unis.
  8. It's posted..so is that the new alternate helmet? I like the Unis..the helmet is a bit underwhelming...
  9. Is there a variable in the amount of money we would get for an FBS game? i.e..Pitt is a somewhat more successful D1 program than Syracuse, so do we get larger payday?
  10. More geographically diverse than years past. Still always wondered why they don't make more of a downstate push though.
  11. Just read the release. Wow. 2 games as part of a tourney against a high major. Sounds Benson really did a great job on this. Anyone complaining?
  12. Forgive my ignorance but what's the Gazelle Group?
  13. So...the 800lb gorilla in the room. When is the website getting redone? Anyone have any inside scoop?
  14. Did you really just politicize sexual assault on college campuses? it's a HUGE issue and has been for years.
  15. Verbal Commits ‏@VerbalCommits 2h2 hours ago 2016 North (MN) F Jamil Jackson has received an offer from Albany. (HT @MNHSU) @J_Juciey03 http://verbalcommits.com/players/jamil-jackson … 1 retweet2 favorites Reply Retweet1 Favorite2
  16. So if its a home and home, plus an Albany based tournament with both schools hosting, doesn't that sound like the absolute best scenario? Sounds pretty good to me. Keeps the rivalry, maybe brings some other teams to town, focuses more of a spotlight on the teams. Win win.
  17. Shouldn't we wait until we know what the contract is before we go crazy?
  18. SOURCES: UAlbany-Siena basketball close to reaching deal http://sportsontherecord.blogspot.com/2015/06/sources-ualbany-siena-basketball-close.html According to sources, the University at Albany and Siena men's basketball team is close to reaching an agreement to renew their annual basketball rivalry. The finalized contract is expected to be completed within the next week and a half. The previous contract had expired after this year's game, a December 13 matchup that saw the Great Danes down Siena 77-68 in front of a jam packed crowd at the Times Union Center. It's been a long road to a renewed rivalry for the two programs, which have squared off in a cross-town battle every year since 2001-02, with heated words and arguments from both sides since the start of this last college hoops season. But now, it seems at least, the two sides have worked through, at least some, of that animosity. The projected agreement will bring the matchup back to the Times Union Center twice in the next three seasons, but will, finally, allow UAlbany to host the rivalry game at SEFCU Arena, something Great Danes coach Will Brown has been fighting for consistently over the past few seasons. Brown has previously made it well known that he would not be opposed to ending the rivalry if a game was not played at SEFCU Arena. Both Brown and Siena coach Jimmy Patsos spoke at length about the future of the game in December and even discussed the option of a set date every season to make the usual-hectic job of scheduling the matchup that much easier. You can read that December article here. It's important to remember that nothing is officially official yet. UAlbany athletic director Mark Benson is in New Hampshire for the America East basketball coaches meetings and nothing is expected to be announced until, at least, the end of the week. Still, it's a step in the right rivalry direction.
