  1. Forgive my ignorance but what's the Gazelle Group?
  2. So...the 800lb gorilla in the room. When is the website getting redone? Anyone have any inside scoop?
  3. Did you really just politicize sexual assault on college campuses? it's a HUGE issue and has been for years.

  5. So if its a home and home, plus an Albany based tournament with both schools hosting, doesn't that sound like the absolute best scenario? Sounds pretty good to me. Keeps the rivalry, maybe brings some other teams to town, focuses more of a spotlight on the teams. Win win.
  6. Shouldn't we wait until we know what the contract is before we go crazy?
  7. SOURCES: UAlbany-Siena basketball close to reaching deal http://sportsontherecord.blogspot.com/2015/06/sources-ualbany-siena-basketball-close.html According to sources, the University at Albany and Siena men's basketball team is close to reaching an agreement to renew their annual basketball rivalry. The finalized contract is expected to be completed within the next week and a half. The previous contract had expired after this year's game, a December 13 matchup that saw the Great Danes down Siena 77-68 in front of a jam packed crowd at the Times Union Center. It's been a long road to a renewed rivalry for the two programs, which have squared off in a cross-town battle every year since 2001-02, with heated words and arguments from both sides since the start of this last college hoops season. But now, it seems at least, the two sides have worked through, at least some, of that animosity. The projected agreement will bring the matchup back to the Times Union Center twice in the next three seasons, but will, finally, allow UAlbany to host the rivalry game at SEFCU Arena, something Great Danes coach Will Brown has been fighting for consistently over the past few seasons. Brown has previously made it well known that he would not be opposed to ending the rivalry if a game was not played at SEFCU Arena. Both Brown and Siena coach Jimmy Patsos spoke at length about the future of the game in December and even discussed the option of a set date every season to make the usual-hectic job of scheduling the matchup that much easier. You can read that December article here. It's important to remember that nothing is officially official yet. UAlbany athletic director Mark Benson is in New Hampshire for the America East basketball coaches meetings and nothing is expected to be announced until, at least, the end of the week. Still, it's a step in the right rivalry direction.
  8. Laura Amato ‏@LauraAmato 4m4 minutes ago Hearing that the Siena-UAlbany basketball deal is close to being finalized. We're talking a few days, to a week away from an announcement.
  9. Blaze is a big boy. Might make playing behind the cage a bit uncomfortable for the ND attackmen.
  10. So that's encouraging. He won 20 of 33 from a superior opponent. If we get 40-50 percent we should win every time
  11. How good was sbus face off guy prior to Saturday? Could Liles be growing into his role
  12. Yale won and so did Princeton. This sets up nicely if UA can win tomorrow. Add the Maryland loss and we have to get a home game...right?
  13. Hey now, this is only one guys opinion. For all we know we end up with a home game and in the top five. Bear in mind the main conference tourneys havent happened yet and if UA wins out and other teams like Duke lose, we could jump over them in the rankings very easily. The ship can't sink until it gets in the water, people.
  14. I should stop drinking at work. What year was the most recent?
  15. So here's a question: How come we never get invited to any of the tournaments? Is it travel costs? What's holding us back from that. With three tourneys in a row you would think we'd be a great Mid-Major for any of these.
  16. 54 seconds ago UAlbany hoped TE Nic Ketter (knee) would step in for the graduated Brian Parker, an NFL prospect. Now looking at converted DE Lukas Repetti.
  17. 3 minutes ago UAlbany TE Nic Ketter of Queensbury injured a knee in practice last week and could miss next season, head coach Greg Hattuso said.
  18. + 1000. Couldn't have said this better myself. The fact is, these religious freedom laws are being enacted directly as a counter to the gay rights movement. This isn't religious freedom defending itself. It's an offensive against what certain religious types believe is an affront to their lifestyle.
  19. Please go read what Pat Haden has decided to do, then come back and speak on this issue.
  20. Considering the You Can Play program from the AE it's probabaly the right thing to do
  21. Question about Cremo and his dominance over the competition. Other than this Canisius team, did he play any competition where members of the other team are going D1?
