  1. Glad to see he has only two fouls because the nine rebounds are nice.
  2. I see that JMU smashed South Dakota State 51-16 on Saturday. They go for the national championship against North Dakota State on Saturday, Jan. 6.
  3. I thought we were going to hang a 30 point loss on them. Becker pulled off near the end. TBH, hamstring strain and concussion are gone- kid absolutely ate the $iena guards lunches 2night. Nico... a talented player but damn, he can't keep his head in the game. It's my personal opinion that UA softened up LCC for UVM last night. I think LCC wanted the game against us so badly that they threw everything they had against us, and there was little left in the tank to play another good team 48 hours later. Of course, that works the same way. I have noticed that UA doesn't play so well the game after the LCC game. Let's hope that model doesn't work tonight against us, and I'm also thankful that we have another 24 hours to prepare mentally and physically for our next opponent than LCC had.
  4. One superior aspect of University Gym was the noise made by stomping the bleachers. Not so good in SEFCU. The gym was also homier. In big games you were right next to your neighbors. It was a tough place for opponents. The chairbacks are nice, though.
  5. Statefan, thanks for revisiting the actual terms of the contract for us all here on this board. Yes, I think some of us got carried away with details on the arrangements for this year's Siena game. You make good points that there was not even close to real equity in this game, but you also stated that it was an improvement over previous contracts with last year's game at SEFCU. If the series continues (and I'm not so thrilled about it any more), then more equity has to be built in. Over a three-year span LCC should be coming to our place two of those times. They are more desperate than we are now.
  6. How was our crowd last night? I couldn't watch the game because of other commitments. Although it was supposed to be a fairer arrangement this year for our fans, Siena still has the edge when it came to the venue.
  7. Women win at Manhattan tonight, and another MAAC team goes down.
  8. I'm glad we don't have to play Columbia again this season (except maybe in the NCAA's). I agree with you posters who say the team may be battling a lot of illness and fatigue. This team has played nine games in about three weeks of time. It has been a brutal schedule, despite what others on the AE forum may think of our schedule.
  9. The defense on both teams looked much stronger; yet, UA scored 57 points in the second half.
  10. And on the AE board, we keep hearing about how weak our strength of schedule is this year.
  11. Game from the perspective of the Worcester telegram.com point of view http://www.telegram.com/news/20171125/albany-78-holy-cross-62-crusader-mens-basketball-team-falls-to-great-danes-at-home
  12. I hope you're right but it's only November. Dane Pound, you're absolutely right about the early state of the team. Lots of things could go wrong, especially injuries to key players. A couple factors make me optimistic: the team's offense, the potential to improve the defense, the team attitude of leaving it behind in the last UVM game, and its current record. I'm usually not this upbeat.
  13. I'll say it now: This team may be the best UA team in its DI history.
  14. Great game against an opponent on the road with a team with whom we usually have problems.
  15. I wasn't following the men's game super closely this afternoon, but I noticed that there were at least two red cards handed out -- one to each team. Does that mean that the Western Michigan player will not be allowed to play in the next round? What about the UA player who received a red card, does his suspension carry over to the next season if he is eligible? If the WMU player cannot participate, at least it's some consolation to UA this year.
  16. Hey, it's a game. The team gets to keep its game-playing skills sharp, and, as Dane Pound says, give other players a chance for some time out on the floor in front of an audience. Maybe some team members will do some of their crazier stunts. Just enjoy it!
