UA just gets first 3-pointer (1-7). WVU has shot 50% behind the 3-point line (4-8).

There was also an article in the Daily Gazette about the expiration of the $iena contract. After the upcoming game this fall, the series expires unless the contract is extended. According to the article, Patsos wants the game to revert to the Times Union Center. Brown expects the 2018 game to be held at SEFCU.

It was great to follow UA sports this weekend. Cross Country Women - Women placed 18 out of 22 in a field of very good teams. Cross Country used to not be so good. Cross Country Men - The team came in 10 out of 18 teams. Ditto second sentence for the women here. Field Hockey - In two games played this weekend, our 20th-ranked women took down Delaware, ranked 5th in the current poll and last year's national champion on Friday. In today's game the women lost by one goal in overtime to the 7th-ranked team. Another coup for the team is that Albany got these highly-ranked teams to come to our place. Volleyball - The women defeated league and SUNY rival Binghamton in four sets. Golf - The women rallied the second day to come in number 2 in the 11-team field. This team's improvement continues to impress me. Football - The team maintained its composure to score twice in overtime in an otherwise low-scoring regulation game to beat a team it had lost to in its three previous games at the Division I level. Soccer Women - UA beat league rival 3-1 on the road. Soccer Men - The men beat Harvard 3-1 on the road for its second road victory in a row. After a slow start to the fall sports season, it is gratifying to see the progress these teams have made.

I live way out of the area most of the year, but in a few minutes I'm heading to the campus. Hope to see the new beautiful scoreboard.

The women lost to Colgate this afternoon. UA got the first goal, but Colgate finished out the game by scoring the next two.

The men lost to St. Bonaventure 1-0 this afternoon. The women are taking on Colgate right now. Field hockey lost to Syracuse 2-0. The Orange scored a goal almost immediately in the game.

It is so good to see both soccer teams picking it up again this season. Not too long ago neither team was particularly good.

The soccer games kick off the whole official sports season. (All other games played so far were only scrimmages.) Hooray! UA sports are back for another great year.

The news I appreciated the most is the ranking of the AE in the country. I think the league is the 3rd highest.

I think it's a case of people being humans. Some people think they'll never get caught; others think they just have to do it and suffer whatever consequences; maybe others just think they're too big, powerful, or influential. I often wonder why people get a third DUI when they know that the consequences are after they're caught. I think the situations are similar.
