  1. Agreed... Last year he was dealing... This year he's not the same player... Is it him or the competition that we're facing? Or a weaker offensive line? We haven't played anyone good yet. Just wait.
  2. I wonder if they'll report by tickets sold. That will likely be hire than butts in seats.
  3. I was surprised we didn't see him for a series last week. I was too. Nothing was working. Fiachi was just off. Has been all year.
  4. At some point, if things aren't going well, I'd look for Smith at QB
  5. We had 11,000 more fans at our football opener than they did.
  6. Anyone checked the online ticket site to see how pregame ticket sales are going?
  7. It was actually on fourth and two. I haven't seen the replay yet, so what was that clusterf*ck just before that? Did Omar make the first down (I thought I saw the ref signal it) but they didn't change the down marker, so we hurried another dive play to make it, but it was really first down already so we ended up with second and nine? Did we think we had to catch URI flatfooted so we didn't take the time to ask what down it was or if the chains weren't right? Lol... No idea what happened there... It's almost like the red signaled first down... Linesman were asleep and didn't move the chains... It was clearly a first down, but the chains didn't move. For some reason instead of waiting for the chains to move, we hurried up and basically wasted a play. Instead of stopping the play once they realized the chains hadn't moved, they kept the play alive and essentially counted it as 1st down. Play should have been erased. Then again, we had zero reason to rush that play anyway. But if the chains weren't ready the officials shouldn't have put the ball in play. I blame it all on the curse of fireworks night. Agreed. The linesman and the back judge were not on the same page. The ball was set but the chains weren't ready.

  9. I think Dane Pound said it earlier, but i know I felt like it was an away game. I'm sure the kids did too and they certainly played like it. I look back at the Colgate game and see what we have. Tons of young talent. Lets grow every week. 2-2 is the goal now. Get a win against Central and put our big boy pants on for the 5 weeks of big time football. ODU, Delaware, JMU, Towson, Richmond............................. Wow
  10. The personal foul was under the new "targeting" rules. Its a dumb rule, IMO, but it was called according to the book. The rule is the problem. Not the call in particular. Its football. Put your big boy pants on. The RB put his head down and the defender smacked him in the ear hole. Good view of it on the jumbotron.
  11. I'm wondering if they didn't think about the need for an end-zone camera. They had two lifts out there right in front of the flags for endzone camera angles.
  12. CAA did a great job with on-campus coverage. Most of it can be found here: http://caafootball.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/caafb-on-campus-coverage-rhody-at-ualbany/ Including a phenomenal interview with some guy at a tailgate.....
  13. Not a CAA game, so probably not on CAA.TV. I think Danezone is the only option.
  14. I thought I saw food by the berm, right near the entrance. If so , that's great. I didn't make it down there and I may or may not have had a number of Pops before getting into my seats and promptly not really sitting the rest of the game. So if it was there, add another two on the other side!
  15. All the on field apparel should be available to the fans. Agreed. Its always the best stuff.
  16. Even more reason it should seat 10,000-12,000. I really wish they would have listed the official attendance at 11,000 or whatever it really was and not the 8,500 capacity. 11,000 would have made it a lot easier to average a respectable number in this down year on the field. That game proved us all right though.....build it and they will come. My dad was downstairs in the concourse at one point stretching out and sparked up a conversation with a guy watching from under the upper deck. The guy was a local resident from off Western. He said he was quite vocally opposed to the idea of the stadium a few years ago. Came to check it out and had a great time. He's coming back next week with his whole family. Those are the fans that will fill this place up year after year. I brought family friends up from the Lower Hudson valley that haven't been to a game since I played 10 years ago. They already bought their tickets for homecoming. They loved it. They have zero connection to the university or the football program now. They just and a good time and want to do it again.
  17. Also of note, the coaching apparel is managed by the equipment office, while the team store is managed by the stadium/marketing team. There has always been a disconnect in terms of quality, IMO. It's why I never get any gear from e team store.
  18. Pretty sure 40 is supposed to be for Coach Ford ("Fordie"). But that's a guess.
  19. The straw hats were made by a football alumn but as far as I know weren't for sale. Our group is exploring the option to sell them as a fundraiser as soon as I can confirm the school has no plans.
  20. On the concession issue - I had expected to see concessions at the top of the berm. Brutus had confirmed that they put in the power stations for those concessions but I didn't see them. Maybe only day games? That would have helped the line inside the concourse. Did I mention there's a beer garden? If I was an of-age student, I'd be sphere a half hour before the game and not move. You can watch the whole game from there.
  21. FYI - they're replaying the game on SNY today at 1pm. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like on TV
  22. Sorry about that man, terrible. Somebody had a good party on me last night! I hope they treat that cooler well. It's a good one! Big wheels. Could have left the cooler and just carried the beer off... The needed the cooler with the big wheels so they fit all the beer they took from all the rest of the coolers. And the food. Thankfully we put the big Football Alumni flags away before halftime. I'm sure they would've ended up in someone's dorm room had we not.
  23. I got to be honest, I would have never predicted 11,000 before the game. There were people in ever nook and cranny of that stadium. In speaking to a few athletic department officials, they know they have some work to do. Alleviate lines, etc. but a pretty much flawless effort on their part too. Kudos. I was afraid they were going to go overboard and sterilize the experience. The beautiful sight of a beer garden
