Hey, I'm sure those making the decision are more in tune then I am.
I am just the type of person who always felt if you are going to do something do it RIGHT!
If those making the decision feel they can do it right so be it!
Only time will tell
-
Does that mean you prefer moving because SBU will move (at some time???) or should we move when "WE" are ready to move?
Click do you honestly think we are well positioned to move at this time. Financially and facility wise?
Serious question!
-
We nickel and dime everything now, how will we finance the move?
It seems everything facility wise we've done id half assed now?
Fallon Field incomplete (no amenities) concessions, bathrooms, storage or lockerrooms.
Nothing done on the Field Hockey Field
Subpar baseball and softball facilities.
SEFCU needs new scoreboard(s), more chairbacks, better concession area and improved Lobby
Etc.etc, etc
If we over extend for the CAA will we ever get the money to even complete the FB (multi purpose) Facility?
I think before we move we should have all our ducks in a row.
All this means is that we will probably make the leap to the CAA!!!

Peter Hooley does a great job on the NCAA video about the Thompsons

With all this squaking about facilities do you guys still think we have the money to jump to the CAA? We have a hard time scraping 2 nickels together and they probably came from SEFCU's pocket!
-
Wake up and smell the roses!!!!
People want and Indoor Track or indoor multi purpose training facility.
Softball and Baseball need upgraded facilities.
SEFCU is a joke, needs tons of upgrades
Fallon Field and the Field Hockey need upgrades (look under the bleachers at John Fallon Field - Incomplete)
Now you're worried about FB walking to the Stadium which is just in Phase 1
-
....$6 Million lousy dollars to finally see UAlbany be able to SHOWCASE it's campus and athletic facilities to the entire nation where it can spotlight it's PREMIER Outdoor Track and Field program that Coach Vives has established as one of the elite on the East Coast... all the while producing these results COMPLETELY ON THE ROAD!. - TBT
Why don't you come up with $15 million lousy dollars for a World Class Indoor facility
-
danefan - if the facility wasn't multi purpose we never would have gotten the approval, so appreciate the soccer lines.
-
Fulton
Haas
Odunsi
Egharevba - Ennema
Sheneglia
Interesting to see how the newbies match up with the returnees
Evans
Hooley
Johnson
Rowley - Devlin - Wiegmann
Puk
I think this is the Deepest team we have ever had, I just wonder if we have a go to guy?????
-
100 x $1,000 = $100,000 a year is chump change.
I'll take the Million up front any time and then keep working on the smaller donors.
Big money is needed or UA will keep nickel and diming things like they do now
Look at all the projects from Fallon Field (no bathrooms, lockerrooms, concessions or enclosed storage areas), Field Hockey no real bleachers or amenities and it goes right on down - nothing gets totally completed in a 1st class fashion.
Now where in PHASE 1 of a Football Stadium (we'll be begging for money in the future to get to the other phases).
Compare SEFCU to the Events Center @ Bing or SBU's new Arena.
-
SoCal_Dane - looks great and would raise a ton of money but who is writing out the checks and why haven't they come forward before this???
I hope the BIG money shows up but based on past performance we have a tough time scraping up loose change.
Stony Brook has had millions donated already - baseball field, fb stadium new weight room facilities etc. plus they have Ken LaValle we have didley squat.
Even Bing has better overall facilities (ie Events Center) then us.
If it wasn't for SEFCU we be under water now.
I hope I'm dead wrong but everyone talks Big Money but I never read about UA Athletics getting Big Money.
-
It may happen but I don't see it being successful.
It appears we have a tough time funding sports properly now, what make us think that out of no where a few more million a year will be budgeted.
Talking the talk is different then walking the walk!!!!
-
The seating and view has to be beeter then what we had:
Low seats
Huge apron before the fence around the track.
The track and the the sideline
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll bet the view in the stadium will be better then what we had
-
Just like when he was at UA he proves hard work and perseverance pays off.
Not only is he in the A League but he got picked up by the 2nd place team!!!
Got 20 minutes in his 1st game.
-
Fill us in about the rumored Aussie?????
-
Then tell us Click!!!
-
From the Times Union on Odunsi - "“I like the fact that he is a big sized point guard and he can play multiple positions,” Brown said Wednesday. “He can really get to the free throw line, has a good feel for the game and is a lock down defender. And we are getting a guy with BCS experience.”
-
It's going to be intriguing at some time seeing a BIG backcourt with Hooley, Odunsi and Johnson.
-
People on the Siena board making like it might not be true.
It's amazing how they have ignored so many other mistakes(????) by members of there basketball team over the past several years.
It's time their administration takes heed to what type of kids they are bringing in!
-
Just for general information - over the last two season the leaders in avg attendance in the AE have been
UA - 2,702
Bing - 2,697
UVM - 2,431
-
A lot of empty seats this year!!!!!
That was coming off a 19 win season.
WE avg 2900 in a 24 win season, we avg 2650 in a 7 win season, I don't think it just has to do with winning!!!!
It is shameful if winning 17 more game equates to 250 more fans!!!
-
UA_MA_2000 - recognizing problems is easy - how about coming up with a viable solution besides SEFCU and CB buying tickets!!!
IMO the administration has to do more then send out tweets and emails!
-
I found this interesting and unique....
Jammer Ambrose@CoachJambrose2hCoach Ford has been the HC @UAlbanyFootball for 42 years. I LOVE IT! Glad they joined #CAAFB !Can't wait to compete with them #CLASS
Coach Ford has been at UA longer then Coach Brown has been alive!!!!!!!
CAA or AE??
in Fall Sports-Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Cross-Country, Field Hockey

Voelker doesn't seem to be hedging too much!

"There is no imminent announcement. There's no imminent change .. We're still planning on hosting the America East Tournament." - Voelker

"We are still in the America East. We don't see that changing anywhere in the near or far future." - UAlbany associate AD Charlie Voelker.
