What do you expects when you lose an entire backcourt with 9 years collegiate experience.
New guys need to learn a new system and new expectations.

Regarding Max Twyman....

New England Recruiting Report
..................While there is once again high-major caliber talent at virtually every spot on the floor, recent Albany commit Max Twyman could be as important as anyone on this year’s roster as his skill, basketball I.Q., and toughness will allow him to be a critical glue guy for Coach Smith.....................

From MyRecruitEZ
Coaches- Wheeler Baker is a dynamic Combo guard with bounce! The 6'1" maybe 6'2" player is an athletic playmaker that reminds our staff of a young Cameron Rundles- the outgoing PG from Wofford university that led his team to NCAA tournament two year ago. During the run Rundles and Wofford upset some pretty good teams on their way to the elite 8 where they lost to Wisconsin in the final minute of play. Baker is an under the radar player! Baker is a scorer in every way imaginable. He can take his man off the bounce due to a good handle and finish well above the rim with authority or he can create space to pull up from anywhere on the floor. Baker has an edge and plays with a chip on his shoulder and doesn't back down! He goes at you! Baker also has grit and mental toughness you would expect to find in a player with division one skill. The level of division one he could play at becomes the question. A similar style player to Wheeler is Bronson Koenig the Sr. PG from Lacross headed to Wisconsin.
From Steven's Sport Report (Steven Macdonald Froemming)
I have personally seen Baker play basketball and I know him on and off the court. Personally, I think that Baker is a good player who has a lot of drive and passion. He good court awareness and knows how to get his teammates involved in the offense. On the defense end, I think that Baker can lock down anyone that he guards. His game will keep improving as long as he keeps working at it. He has a great work ethic.

Hopefully this video link works:
Max Twyman - Twyman has continued to prove himself throughout the first month of open gyms at Brewster Academy, distinguishing himself with both his impressive skill set, high basketball I.Q., and physical toughness.
He becomes the fourth member of Brewster Academy's 2014 class to commit to a division I school joining Chris McCullough (Syracuse), Jared Terrell (Oklahoma State) and Kevin Zabo (San Diego State).

Jimmy Pastos for sure!

In the FIBA Oceana Tounament New Zealand was beaten by Australia 66-50
Megan had 8pts, 1 rebound and 1 block in 9min and 22 sec of play.
It appears she was destined to get more time but in those 9 minutes+ she was called for 5 fouls.
Tremendous experience for her.

Brutus or soemone else confirmed this earlier. Soccer lines inside the football sidelines are only there for soccer games and removed for football games. - danefan
danefan is correct I recall the same thing.
Remember we got the money to build the stadium on the basis of it being a Multi Purpose facility - not so we can have a place to play 4 or 5 games a year. We know it's primarily a Football Stadium but some concessions must bemade!

Any word on the webcam? It's been out for almost 10 days. - madDOG
I think this spells volumes about our preparedness to move up! (LOL)

dslyank - I was just trying to show that scheduling is crazy.
I would love to have the Siena game at SEFCU every other year or atleast when we're the home team we should have the right to control the seating and have it part of our season ticket package.
With playing Siena away all the time (getting $hitty seats in the corner of the arena) and usually playing 2 or 3 money games it's tough to get good home games or home games at all.
I wish we could have 6 OOC home games a year!
-
Dyslank
Siena and two money games are set in stone, Drake is for John Puk I think)
Of the 9 remaining games (that we have a choice about) we have 4 home games. We would of had a 5th but it appears Fairfield chose to have that next season which is allowed. Fairlield would give us 5 of 9 at home

Ede Egharevba - April 18, 2011
IS8/NIKE TOP PERFORMERS (SAT)
This Saturday, the Jamaica, N.Y. site featured five games with four teams that played two matchups a piece.
Here are the top three performers from Saturday and those that received honorable mention.
1. Shaquille Stokes (MetroHawks)
In two contests that yielded winning results on Saturday, the Abraham Lincoln H.S. (Brooklyn, N.Y.) senior point guard averaged 26 points, netting 18 points in the first contest and 34 points in the second. The dynamic floor general knew how to get his teammates involved in the game. However, when Stokes saw his team failing to get the offense flowing enough to stay competitive, he knew how to turn up the heat against his competition.
In both contests – the two point victory over local rival Raising Champions (61-59) and the overtime win over Pennsylvania squad Mountain B-Ball (83-76) – Stokes was the key factor to winning the game. He became the most active in each second half period when a need to pull away from his team’s opponent was imperative.
2. Osamuede “Ede” Egharevba (Raising Champions)
The last time we saw Egharevba, he needed to hone his raw talent into something smoother and more marketable. However, Egharevba’s game is exactly that now – smooth.
M. Wingate Osamuede Egharevba
The 6-foot-6 forward showed an improved midrange jumpshot, 3-point shooting form and strength off the glass. The former Thomas Edison player, who is now a post-grad at Mack Academy (N.C.), has evolved into a do-it-all guy on the floor from rebounds off the defensive and offensive glass to scoring from the inside-out. These improved qualities in his game were clearly evident on the court on Saturday. His high-intensity play carried over from his years as a player for the PSAL “AA” league, showed against both his squad’s opponents.
Despite the loss, Egharevba had a 24-point performance against MetroHawks. And, in the victory, his 16-point effort in the contest against Mountain B-Ball paced Raising Champions..

It also looks like Wichita State may have stolen one in 6'5
Osamuede "Ede" Egharevba
from Jamaica (Edison) NY via Charlotte (Evelyn Mack) NC. "Egharevba is excellent slashing to basket, can pull up and hit the outside shot, and has almost unlimited untapped potential," says Naclerio. And he's pretty good right now, as Naclerio tells us that Egharevba would be a legitimate First Team All City Player, if he was still in New York and was still a high school senior. Naclerio also backs this up even further when he tells us that Egharevba is a better all-around player and a better athlete than 6'5
Jermaine Sanders
from New York (Rice) NY, who is currently ranked #1 in the city's senior class by Naclerio and #82 nationally in the senior class by the
HOOP SCOOP
. So how does Wichita State get a kid originally from the sidewalks of New York to go to the plains of the Midwest? Our guess is
Devon Smith
, who the Shockers' Director of Player Development and a close confidant of the legendary
Howard Garfinkel
.

Those are solid numbers, I hope we match or surpass them!
-
1) More seats equals more revenue
2) Better seats equals higher ticket prices and more revenue
3) More merchandising revenue via the stadium store
.......SoCal_Dane
I agree with the above but I was wondering
What do you expect UA to draw this initial year at Home (being it's a novelty having a NEW Stadium)?
-
6 million dollar difference isn't exactly "Chump Change" and who knows if the State will fork over the money for the rest of the phases, not exactly a priority for Sheldon Silver or Ken Lavalle.
-
So we will need a sizeable donation just to cover the buyout if we move in the future - yipes -sarge965
Here in is our problem - if we need a sizable donation for the buyout how do we afford increasing our budget by over $10 mill annually? ( Delaware 30+mill vs UA 14 mill)
-
Haggy I think we're in the same mindset on this issue - blind faith is all we came have because their is nothing of substance to give us true faith.
MsGDG put a further scare in me....
No Taxes in New Zoneshttp://www.timesunio...nes-4538569.php
As someone who works in state finances and knows how strapped we are for cash.. I don't see how this will work...it's a nice thought but if we can't pay our current bills because we have no cash...I dunno. The things this Gov comes up with.. anything for positive ratings. But the reality of paying actual bills vs. his gimicks will eventually catch up to him.

The switch in Conferences is more about the entire Athletic Program.
If the funding is there for the teams and facilities I think a switch in conferences is a great idea.
Football is already committed,
Women's and Men's Lacrosse with the Thompson's returning should be fine
Men's and Women's Basketball should be competive
Softball and Volleyball will be fine
Baseball may struggle (Southern teams will have a big early season advantage.)
Track will do its thing
Field Hockey will be right there
Both soccers will continue to struggle
I don't know what I left out but if the financing is there the move looks OK, but financing has always been a big question mark.
If the losses mount, an eventual increase in funding is more likely to come about than a step back down to a less competitive conference. I just hope that the funding is enough so that UAlbany can enjoy the types of successes it has been able to achieve in the AE. - HaggylandMy question is why do you think funding will increase if losses mount? Where will the money come from?
I think some ancillary sports may be cut or even a major sport like Footbal could be endangered ( see Hofstra) they built a pretty decent facility for Football and now it's a FH & Lax stadium. When Hofstra went to the CAA even in their worst nightmare situation no one would have imagined them dropping Football!

I'm expecting DJ to play the PG but I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Odunsi , Hooley and/or Haas get time there.
DJ gained alot of experience playing 11 minutes a game behind Mike Black last year and to me never looked flustered on the court and surely looked calm draining a big bucket against UVM in the big game.
DJ shot 36% from 3 and 78% from the FT line for the season
