Women's BBall vs. Vermont

Recommended Posts

Women come back to win vs. a now 13-4 Vermont team. Way to go. Checked the live stats when it was 2 to go and they were down 4. Still had 29 turnovers. How the heck does that happen?

Lots of full court pressure in a fast-paced game. Great win for the Women of UA. This is a team that has really played up now that conference time is here.

It's worth adding that there was a great atmosphere for this unusual weekday noon game , with something like 600 elementary school kids (and teachers etc) providing a raucous buzz, quite in contrast to the usual hall of silence for women's games. I think there were a dozen or more different schools represented.

A good time was had by all.

Is it possible there were over 1,100 in attendance? or is the box score wrong?

Probably counted season ticket holders. There were supposed to be about 600 kids, and maybe 675 live bodies in the house.

Brittney McGee hit a 3 with about 18 seconds left to take the lead, KP blocked a shot with 12.7 left, missed the FTs, but McGee made a steal and hit the FT to seal the win.

could have been that many heads. They (kids) don't take up much space. Last yer this game was on the day of state exams, so there were a handful of people there and no kids. They were very enthusiastic and they lowered concession prices to $1 for everything. They made a difference and got to see a victory. I didn't look at the box score yet, but peterson had the best game I've ever seen her play.

Peterson did play well--besides the block she tipped or alter several shots on 6" 4" Cihai and 6'3" Sheftic-----both teams full-court pressure---a lot of turnovers for both---UA looked very tired at games end but played great defense on UVM's final inbound pass--Great Win!!
