US Lacrosse named Scott Marr their coach of the week. Not sure if they know who is in America East though.Story

Scott Marr's Albany team beat UMass and Drexel to improve to 5-0 this season.

March 19, 2007

Jenny Levy of the University of North Carolina and Scott Marr of the University at Albany have been selected as the US Lacrosse Coaches of the Week for the week ending March 18. Both will be recognized on the CSTV broadcast of the Maryland-North Carolina lacrosse doubleheader on Saturday.

Marr and the Great Danes remained unbeaten with a pair of impressive victories. Albany beat last year's national runner-up, Massachusetts, 10-9 on Tuesday and then went on the road to beat No. 19 Drexel 16-13 on Saturday. Albany is 5-0 heading into its America East opener on Saturday against Hofstra.

we got screwed again. We beat a bunch of top 20 teams including the number 1 team in the nation at their home field and go unbeaten yet we're number 5 in the country behind teams that have lost, some of them to us. What a bunch of BS.

BS? Yes, but tradition still plays a role in the polls. Because UAlbany has never won a post season game, the media/coaches aren't sold quite yet on how good UA is. UA has to win in May if it wants respect.

Very true ... .

In tonight's Lacrosse action, Cornell went down to Duke and won 7-6 this evening, thus gripping the #1 ranking with their paws a little tighter. Long ways to go for all teams, of course ... .
