The "Dog Fight" with UConn

This is actually a very special event. Teams of this calibre rarely have head to head competitions. Rumor has it the UConn coach is losing recruits to UA due to our dominance of the North East (see IC4A results). If the weather is decent you may see a sub 4 min. mile, sub 1:50 half mile, 50+ feet in the Triple jump, 25+ feet in the long, 190+ feet in the hammer, ... and that's just on the guys side. The nice thing about a duel meet is how quickly it goes compared to the usual mega invitationals that go on and on all day. This is an event for everyone who wants to support the T&F team but can't see us because we don't have a home track to compete on.

This is a great athletic story. A big east university challenges us to a 1 on 1 showdown.

 

Wouldn't it be nice if there were writeups on this?

I mean, it is regular occurence to see a big time BCS school challenge a smaller school....in any sport (rolling eyes at the saracasm).

UConn's women's report says they won ten events. You have to read thru it to figure that other teams won javelin and hammer.
