Not the kind of press UA football needs

Big Time Idiots.

Not to make light of the situation at all, but this has nothing to do with them being football players. That said, as usual, the school and Coach have done the immediate right thing-- dumping these kids (either before or after the charges...doesnt matter...they are gone).

Brodus should take note of how this was handled.

I don't understand...the headline reads "UAlbany ex-football player beat girlfriend...." The opening sentence reads..."A University at Albany football player beat his ex-girlfriend..."

Was he ON or OFF the team when this unfortunate incident happened?

Freaking TU...great reporting, but then again, they did have that cool crime map that showed crimes that were perpetrated against UA students off campus and then saying that UA had a crime problem.

I asked for a clarification in the comments section of the blog and they've now changed the first sentence to read "A University at Albany ex-football player ".

Maybe that means they were already off the team?

The comments on the TU blog are pretty rough, but its tough to respond to them.

The enrolment of UA students is one-fifth of the population of the entire city of Albany. I think when you see the comparision of the two populations, it puts the crime statistic in a better perspective.
