[MBB] Game #14: 12/28/18 - 7PM @ Kent State

Recommended Posts

Last Up: W (77-67) vs Manhattan
Next Up: @ Kent State (9-2, lost to Louisville by only 13 and beat Oregon St. by 3)
TV/Streaming: ESPN+
Local Radio: 104.5FM

Another ugly game against Manhattan but the young Danes pulled it out and made enough plays to win. Next up is another very solid opponent Kent State on the road. Gonna be tough to get out of there with a W.

Lulka didn’t have position to get more shots.  Once he had position, he was given the ball and automatic.  I am eating crow because early in the season I didn’t see where he Lulka hype could come from

it wasn't much of a foul.  That doesn't get called in most games in that situation.

For the people who said we are improving YOU WERE RIGHT this game. Offense looked so much better late in the second half. Encouraging game.  Now as for Campbell: I wish everyone well (exception c

Flory makes his #domore debut and will supposedly play significant minutes. I have low expectations after the injury, but I'm interested to see who will lose time with another player added to the mix. DeSousa showed some signs of life with a nice dunk in traffic against Manhattan, and I'd like to see him continue to get time and gain confidence. Flory can play the 2 or the 3 and the team has a lot of players in those roles. I'm thinking that at this moment the team looks like this:

  • 1: Clark, Miller, Brooks
  • 2: Healy, Flory, Fruscio (WO)
  • 3: Rizzuto, Campbell, deSousa
  • 4. Lulka, Lauderdale
  • 5. Hank, French
  • RS: Jerotic, Starks (may never play again)
  • Flory can play the 3, Rizzuto and Healy can play the one or the 2, and Campbell can play the 4.

It's a pretty versatile team. I think we all can agree with Brown that there is a chance that the team can be very good if they can figure out how to put it all together.

I'd love to see Brown sub more often and play more uptempo, but that just isn't his style.

Missed the first half of Coach's radio interview today, but he said the staff has about decided to tell the guys to just stop trying to set picks  - point of emphasis by officials this year giving us four or five fouls per game.

Agreed on uptempo and subs. Entertaining in a year where W's will be hard. Might see more students with more Desousa dunks. Normally I appreciate a more deliberate approach and emphasis on D but this year, not so sure.
