ABR: Albany is the worst city in New York State for football

Recommended Posts

NYC - 8

West Point - 31

Hamilton (Colgate) - 52

Buffalo - 59

Syracuse - 126

Poughkeepsie (Marist) - 136

Stony Brook - 226

Ithaca (Cornell) - 231

Albany - 236

Poughkeepsie. Really??? Hamilton? Something in their methodology doesn't feel right. Using only the current year's team record skews the result

And looking out of state - Smithfield RI (Bryant) is 108 but South Bend IN is 198?

NYC? Fordham and Columbia? What the hell do they offer that UA doesn't...hell Stony Brook being so low is even bs. I hate SB with a passion, but they put a hell of an atmosphere for a game day.

I'd assume NYC gets its ranking from the Giants and Jets, the Hudson River notwithstanding. They also get points for "accessibility" with 9 million people vs. college stadium capacity.

Also I see the "performance level" is averaged over three years, which still hurts us (but can't help Columbia)
