Still no response to my 3 emails to the order email.
Going to have to call them, but problem is right now I work in a call center tech support environment so can't get away from the phone long enough to place the call. I need to return these, have no intentions of showing my face in them. lol. -

Chris Haas, who has relatives in the area, is the one player who UA needs to key on. IF he gets hot he can make alot of 3's in a row. Can and will get his own shot and at 6'5" won't be difficult...the other players on Bucknell are very sporatic.....
So based on recent history...what you're saying is...he's going to go 10 for 10 from 3? Haha.

Fighting over or slipping under can often be strategy against certain players/teams. If you know a guy/team doesn't shoot often or well..you might consciously slip under to prevent a drive and either force a shot or be content with one. Sometimes you get burned despite the "good" strategy..like when a 30% three-point shooting Holy Cross team team lights it up for 70%. Now if you start to consistently get beat..despite what might otherwise be a good decision..maybe that's when you start to change your strategy.
In 100% agreement.

Typically, you CAN make the shooters job tougher if you fight through the screen. However, if you fight too much you can get called for fouls which is (maybe?) why Brown doesn't have our guys do it that often? On the other hand, you could also get offensive fouls called on the screener if he's not set, etc.
When you go under the screen, you're a few steps away and by the time you recover the shooter has already locked and loaded his shot and is about to release. Even if it looks like the hand is in the face, by now muscle memory has kicked in and the eyes no longer really need to see the basket...they've already estimated how much power to put on the shot, etc. Good shooters can literally sometimes shoot with their eyes closed. Not saying we're playing players of that caliber, but if a kid can flat out shoot it...I wouldn't be surprised if he can get a few without really seeing the basket after his initial spot up. It's all on the follow through at that point (good spin on the ball, etc.)
We also have an issue with switches. We don't switch properly sometimes. Instead of switching when seeing a screen, sometimes we end up with two guys covering one guy leaving another one wide open.I never played HS or college ball, but basketball has been my number 1 sport since I can remember. Before my back went out, I spent hours upon hours playing pickup at local parks.

He said "Peter" as in "Peter Hooley"...not Peters (the big stiff). Just clarifying...

So what you're saying is, there is a worse 3pt defending team than us? lol
-
Do players revolt over concussions? In my day, players weren't soft enough to complain about playing with a bang to the head.
Coach Mangurian?

Also reminds me of the Bucknell game last year where they lit it up from 3-point land as well. A Boston University game (or two) also comes to mind when I think about our awful perimeter defense. This game reminded me of the Colgate game last year when they came in and shot about 70% from three. The difference is Holy Cross is a lot better than Colgate was.
I agree about Baker. He had a really bad shooting night but at least gave us an emotional lift in the second half and played with some fire.
Help defense is often necessary but not at the expense of leaving shooters open. Let a big man help out on the drive so everyone can start to rotate down on the backside to minimize the kick-out threat.
This game was just a division 1 a#* kicking. They were in better shape and wanted it more. But there is no way I will concede that HC is that much better than us if at all.
Regarding your last sentence, I agree. I expect to lose by 30 to teams like Syracuse, Kansas, North Carolina, Florida, etc. Not freakin Holy Cross (regardless of the fact that they beat a "No. 25" Harvard team).
We were thoroughly outplayed last night.

I could do some serious damage in that arena with my voice, lol.
Also, I didn't know we changed our name to Cornell.

Yeah, it's not pretty. I was happy when I opened the box, and then disappointed when I put it on and compared it to my Jets jersey.
Hopefully I can return these...

The jerseys smell like...plastic or something. It's really funky. Doesn't smell like new clothes AT ALL. I'm sure after a wash it'll probably be fine, but it's worth mentioning I think.
Actually considering returning these and waiting 10 more years until we sell real gear. Or I'll sell them to someone for $70 bucks OBO lol (I paid $89).
Again, my Jets jersey is a fake $30 one from the internet. Not licensed as a replica or anything. As you can see, the UA stuff is EXTREMELY low quality compared to the NFL knockoff.
Here is a side by side of the football jersey:
Side by side of basketball with football:

So I got the jerseys today. My impressions:
1) They smell funny. Not sure what material this is.
2) Very gym like...the material. It's not like the 'fake' NFL Darrell Revis Jersey I have. Not even close. It looks more like something the players would wear at practice. And they are selling that to us. IMO, you've got to be kidding.
For the money, I expected a wee bit more quality. Again, maybe I'm just hard to please lol.
So my question is - How much would you pay for an authentic jersey? Basketball and Football?
Perhaps not authentic, but at least replica. The only thing replica about this jersey is the colors lol. The $30 NFL fake jersey I have feels 100x better than this UAlbany one I got for $40.
I'd pay up to $100 or so as well.

I too don't really think we'll have a step back. It's hard to take a step back when you're replacing NEC kids (who may or may not have overachieved at the CAA level) with legitimate CAA level kids. Just don't see it happening. Fiacchi had his great moments, but he also had a lot of bad ones. Shanley/Sweeney can't be much different. Gontarek will be a year better, as will Harris. Secondary will be a year old (we were very young there). I think the only spots we may lose some production on are TE and RB...but we don't know who the JUCO's and potential transfers are so...someone may fall into our lap after they see how we turned it around going from a 1-win to a 7-win season.
I do have one observation though...what happened to Ngachie? He showed flashes last year of being a BEAST (and also did against SB this weekend), but he seemed to lose some playing time and you didn't hear his name of the PA system very often this year. Did NiCastro steal all his glory? That guy as well as Dorsey seemed to be EVERYWHERE.
EDIT: Looked at the stats...
Ngachie - 28 tackles, 1 sack (44, 1.5 last year)Dorsey - 111 tackles, 1.5 sacks (85, 0.5 last year)
NiCastro - 120 tackles, 3 sacks (62, 3.5 last year)
Other (Offensive) stats...didn't realize some of these: -
I guess I'm never going to be happy...I'm okay with getting a #31 since it's Jamar...but I want a selection of numbers. Especially for football (10 or 3).
I bought one of both anyway. -
Virtually no one I talk to knows anything about Albany and it's D1 programs. It's really sad actually. Fully agree on the fact that our marketing departments needs a MAJOR kick in the arse to get it in gear. Bad marketing, lack of authentic gear, HORRIBLE online audio/video experiences (based on posts on this board) = lack of fans. They need to address these things and our programs continuing to win will take care of the rest.
-
Tough loss. I was PISSED at the officials. There have been some bad ones (that really short guy with really white hair who does most of our conference games)...but these three fools were the crème de la crème.
-
Great win today. Osbourne left on on 'Beast Mode' note. Fiacchi was his usual great/frustrating self. Some great passes and then some STUPID ones. Secondary, as has been the case all season, let up some big plays. Defensive tackling has been an issue all year as well and was the case today.
All in all, the season has been a great success. -
I'd actually go see my Jets lose a game if it was at BoFo.
-
Dangit! I didn't see your post and came in from the other side of the arena. BOOOOOOOOOO.
-
Wait, what? I hope UA uses this as 'bulletin board' material and OWNS LCC in December/for the year (record wise).
-
Didn't Siena play well against UMass? I don't follow, just thought I read something I twitter saying they played them tough.
Probably a Siena apologist trying to make it sound like they didn't let someone drop 95 on them (they did score 87 themselves though - so UMass must suck defensively as well).
-
Duncan has a bad back... It stiffens up on him especially he sits.
I know how the kid feels. I have the same issue. I can go all out for 10-15 minutes and then I am literally done. Can't play for a good 30 minutes until the back relaxes. If I do push through it, my movement is labored and slow due to the pain.
I feel for the kid, hopefully his issue isn't chronic like mine and just needs some therapy, etc.

THIS. Someone needs to talk to Brown and suggest this idea.
Agreed. Our AD should be doing a lot more to get this fixed. Us fans shouldn't need to do that. It's blatantly in LCC's favor (the deal).
