I know that Iowa’s NIL is a 501c3 so I imagine a lot are.

One thing I’ve noticed living in a Big Ten town now is a lot of the NIL collectives have a partnership with local breweries to sell a school themed beer. Something like 20% of the revenue goes to the NIL collective. Would it be viable to do something like that in Albany? There’s plenty of breweries around.

There are so many kids in the portal everywhere, it is absolutely not sustainable. 40% of players in the MVC are in the portal for example. Transfer Portal

Are you getting to see the Iowa vs Colorado game? Watching Caitlin Clark is definitely a lot of fun. My wife and I are actually living in Iowa City currently so we’ve been able to go to a couple of games this year. I never thought I would get into Women’s basketball but here we are.

The NIT also changed the selection process this year. They took away the Autobid for conference regular season champions and instead guaranteed two bids each to the Power 6 conferences. It’s interesting that a lot of those teams are now declining. -

It’s interesting in that article, it’s mentioned that students want to live on campus more and not in off campus apartments. When I was a student there it seemed like people couldn’t wait to get an apartment off campus. I had a place on Washington across from Beverwyck Park and had a really good time. I guess that mindset has changed.

I’m curious why there wouldn’t be some interest in the academic buildings at Saint Rose from UAlbany or some of the other local colleges. It’s not every day you have turn key academic facilities available to acquire.

Saint Rose Closing Apparently Saint Rose is broke and will be closing at the end of the academic year. I assume this will really hurt the Pine Hills neighborhood.

I just want to say FloSports charging 20 dollars a month to stream CAA games is highway robbery. You can get ESPN+ for half that price and have access to hundreds of more games.

Is that when the signage on the buildings is going to change? I was visiting Albany this past week and drove by the Nano college buildings on the highway and noticed they still say SUNY Poly on them.
