  1. I probably shouldn't give the administration any ideas but I would have paid to watch that game last night. Really entertaining and I wanted five more minutes of OT, not just two! Nichols and Cremo were the story of the night. I guess I have to wonder if Nichols is a PG or a shooting guard? I was impressed with Grayson and thought about a Grayson and Nichols backcourt with Cremo at SF. Campbell was a different player than I thought. Seemed like he was all over the court, especially in the second half. Blocking shots and rebounding. 99 is right, we don't really have a center but I thought Stire was really owning the inside, especially against Mike Rowley who is a pretty decent defender. Cremo had 7 threes in that game. Damn.
  2. There is nothing to figure out. Gattuso has been here for close to a half a decade and can't find a decent QB. Hate to nitpick but Gattuso hasn't been here for close to half a decade. He was hired in 2014. I also understand the frustration with Sussman but I can't see trotting out a QB who hasn't started a game out at Villanova. It just seems like a recipe for disaster.
  3. My second guessing was that we could have done more before that field goal attempt in regulation. It seemed like we let a time waste away when we could have shortened the kick a little. A lot was made of the last play when Sussman overthrew but I really thought Ellis (I think) had his hands on it in the end zone and it went through. I'd watch the replay but I just can't right now. Great effort but this one stings. It'll be interesting to see how this team recovers again Maine next weekend.
  4. A story about the return of Travis Charles - http://www.timesunion.com/tuplus-sports/article/UAlbany-basketball-player-puts-health-scare-9873540.php
  5. We've supposedly offered Shen TE Mike Pizziketti. If I remember right, this is his first year playing football.
  6. Cochran is pictured on the promotional material that just came out for the OOC schedule. Just mentioning it because I found it curious if he's red-shirting this year.
  7. When the Nano School left a fellow alumni said this exact same thing to me. In fact, he pretty much called it.
  8. Picked third. A nice sign of respect considering we lost our starting backcourt and top scorers - http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2016/09/29/america-east-2016-17-conference-preview/ Tanner Leissner is their preseason POY. Hard to argue. He's a heck of a player.
  9. Dolan played for the Albany City Rocks. We haven't had a ton of Rocks players on our roster. I'm wondering if that will change with Lucious Jordan on the staff now. He has some City Rock ties.
  10. Glad to hear it. I like the press release mention CB building on the foundation of Doc Sauers. We have a lot of new faces in that athletic department and it's great to see them incorporating the history of the program into the present.
  11. Good news about Nicastro. http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/UAlbany-football-gets-good-news-on-injured-9284906.php
  12. That's not the St. Francis team I remember from our days in the NEC. Speaking of the NEC, Stony Brook got smacked at home by Sacred Heart. 38-10.
  13. Not "sold" in the past tense. "Selling" in the present tense. If you go to the UAlbany athletics website and click "shop" there is a section called (I'll use italics for the irony) Game Day Accesories which has the stadium seats which you can't bring into the stadium. I'll also note, the simple foam purple pad which I bought...wait for it...at a UAlbany football game...can no longer be used at UAlbany football games.
  14. Thanks for posting this. Coach Engstrom became the D1 leader in wins also.
  15. Last night: Legit CAA stadium. Legit CAA crowd. Legit CAA team. Can we please have someone else running the ball late in the fourth quarter when the game is decided? Hanks had done enough by that point.
  16. I like what we're hearing about Nichols. I will take comparisons to DJ Evans any day.
  17. A little more on Mofor and some of his other recruiting options. He had six touchdowns last week, four rushing and two receiving. http://www.thesentinel.com/pgs/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=2861:roosevelt-s-mofor-commits-to-the-university-of-albany&Itemid=323
  18. The full roster is now posted. Travis Charles is listed as a redshirt junior. I hadn't heard an announcement that he got an extra year but that's good news.
  19. Home game against Cornell on Jan. 2nd http://cornellbigred.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball&
  20. Holy Cross up 21-13 at halftime. HC's QB Peter Pujals is 23 of 26 in the first half for over 200 yards and 2 TDs.
  21. So far we have four opponents on the top 144 countdown. Yale, Stony Brook and more recently Vermont and Siena: http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/13442 http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/13389
  22. I have to imagine we are out of the picture with Anthony Mack. He's announced he's going to decide in October. He's had fall visits with Duquense, Wyoming and Memphis.
