  1. I'm not sure I'd recognize some of these guys but hopefully they show for games once in a while. I'm pretty sure I've seen Amedore at Sefcu once or twice.
  2. St. George, Utah is a really nice place to spend a weekend. I hope they get some extra time there.
  3. Kevin Huerter has been offered by Vandy and Notre Dame.
  4. Welcome Back Kyle McKinley! According to twitter, Kyle McKinley has recommitted to Albany.
  5. Jamir Andrews was released from his Letter of Intent to Bowling Green after the coaching change there. I think we were one of his final schools before he committed there last fall.
  6. I'm not sure about the rest of the classes. You can probably find it somewhere. I will say that since Cremo won it last year also, he's the first guy to win Class A POY since Brandon Triche did it a few years ago. You probably remember Triche at Syracuse. The Class A POY winners for the last 10 years: Adam Weir - signed with Canisius Dajuan Coleman - Syracuse Achraf Yacoubou - Villanova Will Regan - Buffalo Brandon Triche (twice) Tobias Harris - Either Syracuse or Tennesse. Ended up at Tennesse but I thought he signed with Syracuse. Mookie Jones - Syracuse Ty Nash - Notre Dame Kyle McAlarney - Notre Dame That is not to say that Cremo will end up having the career those guys had but it's not a bad list to be on.
  7. Announced today, Joe Cremo is the New York State Class A co-player of the year.
  8. If it's any indication of how good Monroe is, they put 2-4 guys in D1 just about every year. C. Brown had 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals in that regional game against them.
  9. I like the shot blocking ability. That's something we didn't really have last year and hopefully Chas Brown can provide. Have to imagine Singletary might have been able to provide some insight. He and Chas Brown played in Baltimore at around the same time. If he is a Evan Singletary quality player I will be pretty damn happy with this signing. Pretty nice looking front court group with Richard Peters, Mike Rowley, Stire and now Brown and Travis Charles. I'm not sure how many scholarships we have left (two?) but it seems like we'd have to be looking for another guard. It also would look like a perfect year to take a transfer who'd have to sit out.
  10. There was a Q+A with Lyle Thompson in the paper yesterday - http://www.timesunion.com/tuplus-sports/article/Meet-UAlbany-lacrosse-player-Lyle-Thompson-6209059.php I was thinking how much media exposure Thompson and Hooley had had over the past month or so. Both guys come from radically different backgrounds and parts of the world even but both represent the University extremely well. We couldn't ask for a much better public face than those two.
  11. A lot can happen between now and then but...yeah, at this point in time not sure how steep the cliff is going to be after next year. There is very little 4 year core talent being developed. Baker was a pretty big loss in that regard. I'm not as worried about 16-17 even without new additions. If our starting five is Tre Green (assuming he stays) Cremo, Dallas, Mike Rowley and Richard Peters I'll take that. However, since you bring him up, I've seen on a few occasion glimpses of solid play from Tre, wonder what type of player he can be. I liked him too. Really strong and quick. His decision making wasn't always the best but hopefully that will get better. It's the area I thought Evan Singletary was really good right from the start and why he started right away. He seems to always keep his head the way Mike Black used to.

  13. A couple of interesting developments... Tomaz Gielo, a 6'9 player from Liberty is going to graduate and transfer. He'd be a one year guy. Looks like he'd be a nice pick-up. Also, Eli Long, formerly commited to Florida Gulf Coast has been released from his LOI. He's a 2015 recruit from Canada.
  14. I'm not sure how long they've had that poll. We finished the year with an RPI of 97. That's our highest since Jamar's senior year when we were 83.
  15. That didn't take long. They announced today that Will was taking the VCU job. Will Wade that is. The former Chattanoga coach. I guess that means the Chattanoga job is open but I don't see as much buzz for that one.
  16. EJ Gallup had a pretty nice career at Coastal Carolina after he left. I think he was a first team all-conference player in the Big South for the two years he was there.
  17. You're right. I forgot I should not do math in the morning.
  18. Seems like the kind guy we would need. Played at what must be a terrific high school, his teammates were Jon Ross - headed to Long Beach State, and Eric Cooper Jr. who just had a pretty good freshman year at Nevada. Our last California JUCO was pretty good - Gary Johnson.
  19. I took that a little differently. I thought someone who might have been walking-on may now be getting a scholarship but I guess it will sort itself out.
  20. I think my brain like to rearrange letters so I somehow came up with McKay in my head...but whatever! There's a word for that, lysdexia,.sydlexia..something like that. I understand, it's been a long week!
  21. Doesn't post number 27 state that McKay is also leaving the program?... It's Twyman and Wells that are leaving. Sorry as well to hear about Baker. From watching him, he was the first guy off the bench to congratulate teammates, help guys off the floor, etc. Seemed like a good teammate from a distance. I would have liked to see him stay but wish him luck wherever he hands. Ditto that for Twyman and Wells. I thought with the talent in front of them that they'd be "program guys" who maybe would get some minutes later in their careers. From chatting with Mike Wells at some of the preseason events he seemed like a terrific guy. I think as we climb the recruiting ladder, guys who were talented "gets" a couple of years ago when they were recruited end up behind really good players because of all our recent success. There are worse problems to have.
  22. Just a heads-up, I moved the Indiana stuff here - http://bigpurplefans.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=7927 Now back to idle contract speculation.
  23. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Jesse Bunting if we have a scholarship open up. Bunting had committed to Pecora at Fordham before the coaching change. We had been recruiting him before his commitment.
