  1. Speaking of Ede, I'd actually like to see him as our back-up power forward rather than our #3 small forward after Dallas. As he showed when he had his chances earlier this year, he can score and could help, especially when we're struggling to score. Sam Rowley had two points in our loss in Burlington and four points the other night. Those fouls he picks up near half-court drive me up the wall. They took him out of the game the other night and he's too important to what we do to have him sitting on the bench.
  2. Different kind kind of challenge for Puk tonight. Warney is the best player in the conference but overall the 8 guys or 9 guys Vermont plays are better. Hopefully we can defend and rebound at level we did on Weds. Lookiing forward to seeing Dallas vs. Steidl. Our future against the Catamounts.
  3. Watched Cremo's Scotia team again the other night. It's fun having a local player commit early and have a chance to watch him even if the games aren't close after the first 10 minutes. He's really a savvy and unselfish player. He made three plays the other night that impressed me and he didn't score on any of them: -On a fast break I thought he was going to posterize one of the SGF guards. Instead he drove right at him and then made a nice dish for an uncontested layup. -A similar play where he didn't have the ball. He sealed his man out from the hoop for another easy layup for a teammate. There's no stat for that, it's just a winning play. -When Scotia got up about 25 points they started getting a little ragged, taking some quick shots, etc. Cremo huddled up his team during some free throws and lit a fire. They came out and hit the gas, went on a run and it was a 40 point lead at halftime. -
  4. Nice night for Greg Stire on Friday, 27 points including a three. Didn't know that was part of his game. Also a clip on Wheeler Baker. His coach says he's one of the best three point shooters in the state, then says he's shooting 48%. I'm guessing that's overall, he can't be shooting 48% from three, can he?
  5. Great to see Sam looking more like Sam again. We knew it was a good sign when those free throws went down. I like the aggressive version of Gary Johnson and hope to see more of it. Shorter bench tonight and it served us well.
  6. Agree. I'd rather he sat out those games and had hopefully get 100%. Develop someone else with those minutes and hopefully get deeper.
  7. I like the idea that Villanova is worried about keeping up with us.
  8. Kinda early but what the heck. They have Albany has a 14 seed playing Arizona State in Lexington Kentucky. Probably a better match-up than North Carolina was last year. They have Marist as a 10 seed AND they have Iona in as well at an #11 seed. Wwwwhat! Two MAAC teams in the tournament! In their bracket Iona is playing #6 seed Syracuse.
  9. Supposedly we have an offer out to J.J. N'Ganga. A 6'10 center from France. After the previous offer was to Link Kabadyundi of Montreal I'm guessing we are intent on getting a French speaking big man.
  10. From NY2LA sports: Wheeler Baker 6'2 G Osseo Committed to Albany Wheeler is offensively dynamo scoring from all over the floor and plays within the offense. Baker plays with aggressiveness on both sides of the ball and the combo guard is having one of the best season of any prospect in Minnesota's 2014 class. He’s averaging 24.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG and 2.4 APG this season for Osseo who holds a 14-3 record this season. Baker has a college ready game, is an explosive athlete, and his instincts and court awareness are at a high level. - See more at: http://www.ny2laspor...h.fByxj3iy.dpuf
  11. Tim Wilkin wrote a column today about MBB that said a lot of the same things I've heard in the stands of Sefcu this year.
  12. James Allen wrote in today's paper that Coach Brown was at the Schenectady - Catholic Central game yesterday to see soph guard Anthony Mack.
  13. Like everything with the stadium process, I'm sure this will take a while. Great to see the public conversation started even if some of it will oppose. Jammaster makes a great point that this could be a good thing for the city and area overall. I wonder if we get to a point where it would be better to outsource running the stadium to an outside party, for booking other events, etc? Maybe it's apples and oranges but it's worked pretty well for the TUC. Sefcu upgrades have to be on the table at some point in the future. Hopefully there is an overall plan integrating both Sefcu and the stadium. I'd like to see one high quality concessions and merch area shared by both buildings that two separate decent ones.
  14. I think everyone is malcontent after this game.
  15. Same here. Like a nightmare. Which is what they past couple of weeks have been. I'm not sure where that passion and intensity that I saw in the Hartford game went but it's gone. No intensity and no poise in the last couple of minutes.
  16. Nice job by AE TV to get Stephan Colbert to announce the game tongiht.
  17. I think every team is going to foul Sam Rowley if he keeps missing free throws like he has since the injury. 1-7 the last three games. Great night for Dallas when we needed it. He had some blocks he didn't get credit for. I agree with the comments about DJ handling the ball at the end of the game. We didn't have a good possession late and a better team would have made us pay for it.
  18. According to the AE board, Jordan Reed is suspended for Monday's game.
  19. Not what I would have expected in terms of a commitment. I was thinking we need a big guy for next year. I guess we still do. I'm not going to argue with PG depth though. I thought we had plenty this year before the transfer of Jiggits and the concussion to Odunsi. Singletary looks like he shoot FTs and the three.
  20. Diallo is from Our Saviour New American, a school that's been very good to use in the past - Jamar Wilson, Tim Ambrose, Gerardo Suero.
  21. DanesRGood has been upset with the web broadcasts in the past but must be loving the new AE TV. I'm tempted to stay home this afternoon and watch several games instead of just going to one game. Haven't seen an injury report for this game and I'm not sure I want to know right now.
  22. Cremo with something like 26 last night. I'm not sure how meaningful that number even is because these last few games have more or less over by halftime. He's the second leading scorer in the area (behind Wincowski) and it's amazing watching him how few shots he seems to take in a game. He plays within their system and doesn't seem like a scoring addict. Then you look at the box score and he's got 25 plus points. He's projected as a SG and I'm guessing that's where he'll play in AAU and at Albany but they have him playing in the post a lot for Scotia.
  23. Hooley isn't listed in the Maine game notes for what it's worth. Starting lineup is the same as it was for UML.
  24. In the 45 minutes of muck at Lowell last night the one decent spot might have been the play of Egharevba. I hope he becomes a regular. As much as GJ does at the SF spot, everyone we play knows to play him to drive because he's not going to shoot. To mix a scorer like Ede in that position should help.
  25. Same webcast in the same gym as last night but much better watching tonight. Women up over 20 at Lowell.
