Hopefully we get more kids of his caliber playing next year (I don't know who all the redshirts are) and start to develop something special.
We were just out matched this year...our kids aren't on the same level as the rest of the CAA. That includes IQ, ability, etc.
I still can't figure out how Fiacchi, when in the pocket, never seems to be able to see a defensive player running directly at him.

I am waiting for the stats to pop up on the UA website, but Ngachie had to hit double digits in tackles today...he looked sharp.
-
Must fired up sideline I have seen all season.
You at the game Haggy? Or watching somewhere?
Twas at the game; special teams is the culprit in this one (and some predictable offensive play calling, too!)

I would like to order a two yard run up the middle.
-
Bet the over for this game.
-
If I ran onto the field during the game would it be left to a UNH player to tackle me? (I think even I might be able to shake a UA "tackle".)

MASSIVE WIN. Biggest in UA regular season history?
From your keyboard to her lips: "This is probably our biggest non-conference victory ever here at UAlbany," says Abrahamson-Henderson.
-
Great win.
Pre-season all conference picks were Richards and Craig.
Three games in Richards looks like a no-brainer, but I would take Royals over Craig on al all-conference team at this point.
Seems odd to say it, but I think Megan's hands look a little too soft when they are tossing the ball inside...grab that ball!

As Shereesa goes, so goes the team.
As soon as she came out with her second foul UA had no offense.
To start the second she is in on every play.

On the women's side we recently signed Tiana Jo Carter, a 6'2 center from Maine. Recruited by Maine, UMass and...Marist.
Nice.
From last year: "Class B girls: Defending regional champ Lake Region is probably the favorite again. Tiana-Jo Carter averaged 15 points and 17 rebounds per game last winter, and the Portland Press Herald reports she has already received full scholarship offers to Division I schools. "

I know this is a little off subject but last night I caught a quick few minutes of the Buffalo - Toledo game. I found it quite odd that as much as Buffalo tries to hold itself away from the other SUNY universities that on their jerseys that had a big insignia that read State University of New York Buffalo. In this case New York was in much larger print then any of the other words including Buffalo. Are they now making the play to be the most identified SUNY university?
Slightly off topic, but I am a little amazed that Buffalo will likely have one of their players (Khalil Mack) picked in the first round of the NFL Draft this year...possibly in the top 15.
More cred for the SUNYs?

8 minutes in and Siena has to get to the line to get their first point of the game.
-
Not a whole lot of substance in that article.
Looked like just an excuse to rationalize Siena spending money.

I'm between Ngachie and Senn being the most impressive youngster that has played a lot.
Senn has all the makings of an NFL O-lineman. Very impressive for a True Frosh.
True dat; I just don't think I have heard one mention of Nicastro on this board, and that kid is going to have a good career!
-
The freshman, #32, had a nice game including a big hit clogging up the hole on a running play and hit helmet came off and he was pumped up. Kid is fast also coming to make some nice tackles on a few outside runs. Looks like he is going to be a good one!
I love the Ngachie enthusiasm, and although he had a bit of a down game, I have to pay notice to Nicastro. Redshirt freshman; team leader in sacks, third in tackles...he good.
Speaking of tackles, how many were missed yesterday? At times it seemed like a scene from one of those movies where 11 defenders jump on the ball-handler's back but he runs into the end zone nevertheless.

Slacker Haggy just placed his order (different numbers for different games.)
I was informed that there are some gold seats left, and only 150 away seats, and I was strongly encouraged not to wait until noon to purchase!
Now for the doom and gloom: We are 29.5 point underdogs (sad trombone.)

Unanimous for the women to win again:

It looks like the fear/respect for Coach Abe is a fait accompli.

Why wait for the preseason poll to be released later today? Buried in Santillo's article today..he says the men's team is picked 3rd in the poll.
Not cool by Santillo...I wanted something to pass the late morning/early afternoon.
FYI:
Good morning! The preseason #AEHoops polls will be released at 11 am and 1 pm today!

Megan Craig and Shereesha Richards are both named to the pre-season AE team:

Only team with two honorees; pre-season poll to be announced starting at 10AM on Twittter tomorrow.

chances of Pasqualoni being on the short list?
I would suspect he's out of our price range.
I have this recurring dream/nightmare sequence involving Lane Kiffin talking about singing "Purple and Gold" after beating Stony Brook.
-
I can't wait for Ennema to leak out on the fast break for a quick two.
Sorry but you've all been thinking it since we signed him.
BDSH FTW!

Here's hoping the Lady Danes are playing on March 10. Nothing will ever beat 2013 though.
They are losing a lot, but I looked at the new profiles available on the UA website, and among the new recruits are the #45 guard in the country, and the #48 wing in the country. In the very least there should be a very good young group to build around.
Still, you take...
G- Royals/Rosario
G- Tate (Fr.- #45 Guard in her recruiting class.)
F- Aiyalogbe (Fr.- #48 Wing in her recruiting class.)
F- Richards
C- Craig
...and I like UA's chances, especially with Coach Abe at the helm.

After last night's commitment from Twyman..it looks like Coach Brown's headed to Quebec on a visit. Safe to assume it's to see Link Kabadyundi.
Every time I read this name I flash back to images of the movie Encino Man, where the lead character (and unfrozen caveman) is named Link by his two high school aged discoverers.
Now there is a chance a 7'1" kid named Link might be playing for UA? Huh.
...And we now conclude my inane contribution to the board. Thank you.
And the new UAlbany Head Football Coach is......

Two things I gleaned from those articles:
1) I think we can win him over as fans.
2) I need to start looking for a Porsche SUV in the SEFCU parking lot.
