  1. statefan, good constructive commentary ... appreciated ... work schedule does not allow me to make weekday luncheons ... fan of the #2 proposal ... can't believe that there was no Q&A time ... that would seem to be the appeal for many ... of interest, facts on the siena series, the rehab progress of jamar, facilities, etc. ... the new logo appears to be a conservative/safe selection ...
  2. congratulations to the lax team ... impressive accomplishment ... never was introduced to the game in my youth, but have been developing an interest over the past couple seasons with the success of the UA team ... looking forward to the night games on university field
  3. a new stadium may still be a few years off, and will no doubt require the clearing of a few major political/financial hurdles, but it is good to see talk about the possibility in the TU Danes Consider Stadium
  4. congratulations to the rookie ... second cheers to the coaching staff for having brought in back-to-back winners ... let us hope that iati has a big night this evening ... his efforts/contributions will look even better next season ...
  5. that arena is a disappointment, but i'll be over with a few folks ... glad to see that we are the late game, but i am not sure that we'll be making the pre-game gathering ... tough to make it into Boston from Albany following work, etc. for an early friday evening party ... the bags will be packed for a weekend stay ... my high school friends over the border in NH may have to put us up for two nights ... Go Danes! ... others often attach a quote with their post, so, a little inspiration/commentary from the late Herb Brooks, "Gentlemen, you don't have enough talent to win on talent alone." Go Danes!
  6. why is that here? ... of course, if they would have agreed to a contract for a series of games with their fellow IAA member danes, i'm sure that many on this side would have voiced support in favor of saving their football program ... considering that they danced around any effort to restore meetings between UA and Siena on the gridiron, i see it as one less topic congesting local media coverage in the fall
  7. game effort by the women ... but ... found themselves down six with ten seconds remaining and they kick it inside for uncontested points???? Hutcheson strong again with 17 pts. and 21 boards ... looking for a few upsets in the AE tournament
  8. how much was she missed back during the season opener against siena ... congratulations ... rooting for a few upsets in the AE Tournament ...
  9. congratulations to the rookie ... it will be an even greater treat to watch his efforts next season ... strong supporting cast and complete rehabilitation of the shoulder ... AE ROY is a lock ... great to have him in Albany
  10. it is nice to see dane fans discussing baseball ... best sport of them all ... congratulations to the team for the impressive start
  11. i knew there would be some who favored the current lighting ... not for me as it is ... how about the VT Catamounts taking a beating from UNH ... TC sorely missed
  12. a great evening for UA basketball ... a pair of impressive AE victories ... i know there are some who will disagree with this point, but the chosen lighting arrangement for basketball games in the RACC sucks ... all of the lights were on following the finish of the second game, and it reminded me of how much better visibility was in that arena prior to the practice of spotlighting/emphasizing the court by turning down/off all other lamps above the crowd ... it is awful
  13. another great performance by both teams ... impressive defense of the AE title by the men ... congratulations to Coach Vives ... class act ...
  14. nice post SienaGlen ... meaningful commentary ...
  15. i agree with your comment Albany Fan ... a good reason for the community to come out to support local college athletics ... hopefully charlie v. and co. will find the magic formula for developing significant local support for UA athletics ... find that connection with non-alums ... continue to work on the current student body ... you need a lively venue to appeal to locals ... new marketing efforts this year appear to be a step in the right direction ... wins, which have arrived already for football, track, and lacrosse, and are just around the corner for basketball, don't hurt either ... although it may not be at the desired pace, they are making strides in the marketing/athletic depts.
  16. UVM Athletics ... Coppenrath "will likely" be out for the remainder of the season with a broken wrist ESPN College Basketball Reports UVM Athletics
  17. as it has been stated all along ... AE wins are important, but that match-up is the most important game of the year for the danes ... one victory will dramatically alter local perception of UA basketball ... until we get one from siena at the DI level they will maintain all of the perks that go with being the most celebrated local college basketball attraction ...
  18. difficult circumstances have created this tension ... T. Martin will be just fine ... he'll mature into a quality AE player over the next three-plus years ... and to the siena critics of iati on this board, the post by dane pound certainly illustrates that his field goal percentage is in elite company in the conference
  19. scottotile ... you must have a few copies of the 'good book' on campus over there ... check to see if there is any verse that references iati ... hope to see you at any upcoming games ... i'll be over in sec. 200 shouting "put it up" ... our best days are a season ahead ... in the meantime i'll have to be content with the efforts put forth by dane freshmen and walk-ons ... go Danes
  20. scottotile ... are you a disgruntled ex of young iati from back in PA? ... or are you back on campus in loudonville? ... considering the circumstances ... the rookie is doing just fine ... he will have a clearly defined role next season ... be fully rehabilitated from surgery ... he'll be impressive as part of the 04-05 roster ...
  21. congratulations to both danes ... another 03-04 AE ROY nail for iati ... more impressive still, he too, is coming off of surgery, coupled with an injury depleted supporting cast ... it should be a fun season in 04-05 ... there is light at the end of the tunnel for both programs ... Go Danes.
  22. ... i guess that would make the summer huuuuuge ... the fuccillo commercials are nearly as bad as the "we love our (s)aints" spots ... of course we're quoting them, so they are effective ... good stuff statefan
  23. nice background on the new UA pep band ... a positive addition to the RACC and Dane basketball experience ... long overdue UA Pep Band
