  1. What happened to the Forum Header? Going "minimalistic"? What happened to all the artwork, which Damien to use, what color combo?? Not that there is anything wrong with a simple LOGO. Just being curious.
  2. Some of Scott's post game comments: "I thought we played hard and, for as much defense as we had to play, I felt we did a really nice job, especially in the second half only allowing three goals. Tommy Heller played very well in goal. Bottom line is we are up 2-0 with the ball and a chance to go up 3-0 and we turn the ball over on our next five possessions. They capitalize and make it 5-2 and that's the difference in the game. Wow! lost because of face-offs and TURNOVERS and NOT getting enough ground balls. Never played the game (obvious by my posts) but it seems like UA helmets are too big or chin straps jut out too far; seems like they are looking directly at the ball on the ground and NOT even seeing it?? Heard numerous coaches say getting ground balls is all about hustle and wanting it more [same as diving on the floor for loose basketballs.] Curious, for those of you who have played/coached/studied the game for years, are there techniques/skill sets that UA is lacking in getting ground balls? Seems like an issue with UA for years. Can't be all about desire & hustle???????? ALL opinions thoughts welcomed, expert or not.
  3. Men still have hand shake lines after games?? Or have I been in la-la-land all year and just assumed they still do?? Either way still thing Vt Classless!
  4. Dartmouth beat Vt in Burlington 8-7. On the other hand bingo beat up on Hofstra. If UA ever gets their act together, should/could handle the AmEast??
  5. Lady Danes played extremely well. A little trouble when up 17 & Vt. went to full court press. Held on for a double digit win. Have not been to a woman’s game in awhile; don’t the women use a hand shake line at the end of the game? Was the fact that Vt. just ran off the court to their locker room, another example of a Vt classless act??
  6. ps. Again I am most likely WRONG, but from what I’ve seen of this offense so far IMHO they DO have the horses to score. Think turn them loose go back to two-middies (give-up a ton of goals); make a track meet of it. Can’t be worse than what I’ve seen lately (including a win vs lcc. ) Good think I’m far from an expert and probably WRONG. But that is my arm chair QB for today. pss. I think I’ll skip the Maryland game. Not sure my ❤️ can take it.
  7. Played better in second ½. But past issues face-offs (which seemed better until today) and ground balls (which is ALWAYS problematic) reared their ugly heads today—(7 for 24 & 22 to 30.) But was most annoying no sense of urgency. Down 2 with under 5 to go & UA standing around watching/waiting for substitutions. O is so methodical afraid to make mistakes; so what do they do but MAKE MISTAKES. What happened to Scott’s “free wheeling-let them make plays” style. I know I know, does not have the athletes. But IMHO if they don’t pickup their pace offensively, it is going to be a long year. Also, I may be wrong, but everytime Pucci comes on the field he is looking back over his shoulder—-looking for the play?? or looking to see who else coming on??Should’nt theses be worked out before he/they come?? Be much more seamless??
  8. The game is listed on espn+. Unless it has changed since yesterday. Do NOT have to pay.
  9. Would NOT, not welcome him back. But IMHO, I would really like to have as many spots available for Killings to fill. I think there are better players out there then Horton. UA badly needs a real point guard; someone who can handle the ball and score from the outside CONSISTENTLY. IMHO Horton is average at best @ the point. His assist to T/O ratio did improve as the year went on; but outside shot was never more than just OK. Not convinced he'd be any better off the ball, but you certainly are welcome to disagree.
  10. My vote, Let him Walk. IMHO, he was only OK, when compared to a cast of mostly misfits.
  11. OK. Here is the "definitive"😙 assessment of the year from 50 years of watching UA BB with NO coaching or playing experience {"definitive " in quotes of course, so hammer away no offense taken.} It was obvious after a very short time, this team was going nowhere. Did it have enough talent to compete; especially with injuries--NO WAY O'SAY! Can Killings coach? The answer to that is still not enough data, i.e too early to tell. He did get the team to play hard and perhaps believe him themselves; but not sure he gets the credit for that. Anyone who plays DI already thinks he's got game? Personally, I would have preferred him to play the youngsters more, build for the future--take your beatings. HOW much worse could it have been?? The team could not shoot worth $hit--no one can argue that. Could better coaching, better sets, helped--probably/maybe is all I have. He did use a Will Brown trick {and I am in no way comparing coaches or trying to bring up an old controversy}; by trying to hide an offensively challenged team by hard nosed defense. One thing he did NOT do is get this team to REBOUND. Pretty sad when your top rebounder only played less than 10 minutes per game. What the he!! was the rest of the players doing for 30+ minutes?? I'm done. What's the famous expression: "Wait to Next Year." Hammer away.
  12. Was about to go to the game & something last minute came up; but got to see most of the game live streamed. NH was very physical and UA announcers trying to be as politically correct as possible repeated said NH would/wanted to be as physical as the ref’s would allow. And IMHO the ref’s did more than their share, by allowing much too much physicality on NH part. I admit not seeing the UA women much as always conflicted with men; but I felt they were by far the superior team; and the game was ugly only because the ref’s let it be.
  13. I thought UA played pretty well for the most part. lcc is NOT a good team but NOT as bad their record over the last couple of years shows. All but 2 loses last year were by 1 or 2 goals. Played Army (who handled SU yesterday pretty easily) tough for a ½. Beat MassL who was supposedly on the rise in the AmEast?? lcc has a lot of seniors and grad kids on the roster. It was a rivalry game with a lot of emotion and a lot of "knowing each other." With all that said, DO feel UA should/could have at least doubled them up. UA did have 3 goals dis-allowed {2 of which were suspect IMHO.} But was encouraged by: both UA F/O guys; A LOT of UA players [especially freshman] involved in the scoring; and the defense with some costly mistakes, actually played very hard and good for the most part. My negative is UA did not have any (zero) behind the goal attack; and hope/ think this will change if/when Yunker's comes back [watched replay announcers said mid-march.]
  14. 100% Agree. ++ with Champion & Newman on offense, UA is attacking with 3 against 5 defenders!
  15. Anyone know are the first round games Sunday the 6th or Saturday the 5th. AmEast sites have conflicting info??
  16. Not sure what it mean; not sure what any of it mean at this point, but sienna beat MassL on the road yesterday. Do we switch certain/toss up status sienna & MassL?? What about 1-3 Penn State knocking off Yale (when was the last time Yale held to 6 goals). Boston U ( a team UA scrimmaged up or even) more than doubles up on UMassA. Brown 2 & 1 (with a narrow loss @NC) and a win over vt., picked 5/6 in the IVY?? Parity has arrived?????? or just too early in the season to make any sense? ps. NOT convinced brook legit. Have NOT played anybody. Bingo could be tough if they found a replacement for their goalie?
  17. Not sure I agree or disagree with this. Definitely have to get better D. But trying to stay positive, still thinking 8 or 9 wins. Still think 5 wins in AmEast (+1 vt very beatable); Sienna & UMass(very beatable); and perhaps a supreme effort beats 1 of the power 5s (Yale & SU look beatable [SU D maybe even worse than UA].) Maryland hopeless, Penn?? So 9 maybe even 10 wins doable. Of course without some defensive/goal improvement could be worse; but do not think it will be as bad as 3-4wins??
  18. For what it’s worth vt lost again and umbc got beat by a historically very poor Mt. St. Mary. Brook is 3-0 but has played nobody & are out of AmEast anyhow. If UA can get Yunker back soon & can do something to improve the defense/goal tending there is HOPE for this team. Of course a UA loss to an historically poor small private school this Wednesday and my prognostications will become exceedingly NON positive.
  19. Missed game because of previous commitment. So glad I missed it. Brook a shell of itself but like a lot of you are saying got up for UA. In-spite of overachieving this year; this UA team should be ashamed of their performance tonight—players & staff ALL. Some seem to want to cut UA some slack for a number of reasons—-new coach, injuries, too many new players, not enough new players/not enough talent, over achieving,etc.etc. But at this point in the season in a critical game against a decimated program all the excuses are meaningless. IMHO you just have to win.
  20. You are 100% right on; 30% save rate NOT going to cut-it. If Ramos not available (injured or moved on), where is the goal depth Scott was advertising?? Really I’m not qualified to second guess the coach; but from my observations, fall and so far; still think offensively UA is/will be fine. Just do not see why coach keeps praising the D and experiments with the offense, especially the middies. Maybe there isn’t any help for the D; so Scott knows/hopes all he can do is be positive??
  21. Did not see game; but followed on live stats. 21TO’s. 6 in crucial 4th qtr. Goalie only made 6 saves total & had 1 of the 4th to’s. Good news 20 out of 30 on face offs. Got some scoring from freshman middies (Morgan, Decker, Prezzi (soph).) Anyone at game or watched live, look for your thoughts
  22. Brown gave N.carolina all they could handle. Brown NO joke. IVY could very well be top conference in the country. Minimally second only to ACC.
  23. Just curious?? What brook players abandoned ship? And do you know/think they left because of the AmEast tournament snub OR left un-happy with the direction of the team to the caa?? Probably never know; but curious what anyone know/think about these departures..
  24. Maine announcers think they have a good team? IMHO their team is “overrated”; if that is possible with what 2 league wins. Said they could climb out of the cellar. “All they had to do was beat UA, UMBC. & Vermont “?
  25. OK. At least we know why he is MIA; and IMHO when he returns, he could be the quarterback, just what the offense needs! Scott say anything else hopeful/positive/interesting?
