  1. OT. Speaking of seniors; anyone know where Covid extra year eligibility stand??? Is this the last year where players can op for a extra year; or have we already reached the end of Covid extra years???
  2. What is the old expression “wait to next year.” I would be careful about calling VT a AmEast dynasty just yet. OK in basketball; but they have A LONG way to go match UA’s lax history. In fact umbc, the departed brook, and even bingo have a greater lax history than VT. How many top 10, 15 or even 20 wins do they have. I would bet few if any under 10, and hardly anymore even if you expand the criteria to under 20. Remember winning the AmEast is one thing; winning against the lax elite, another story. Before I end my rant, just like to take note that around 60% of VTs roster is JRs & SRs and most of their top players are SRs. UA just about the reverse %s FR & SOPH. NO argument VT, faster, bigger, better this year. But I for one am not about to crown them King of AmEast Lax.
  3. If anyone cares; looks like game is listed on ESPN+. Just watched umbc beat bingo 7-6. UA sports shows Aetv. only. But it is on the espn+ listings.
  4. I know SEFCU has been very generous over the years; but IMHO, for my money, naming rights are naming rights and SEFCU naming rights contract ENDED something like 5-6 years ago. IMHO it should have reverted to the RACC at that time, and remained so until a new naming rights sponsor/contract obtained.
  5. Agree with 1882; would rather have spent the schollie on a Big or a Pure 3point shooter
  6. I've admitted all along as NOT being a lacrosse expert--never played, never coached at any level; basically a newbie fan. Followed UA lax some in DIII days, became devote when UA went DI. There were some up and down years along the way with the offense always seemingly the strength of the team and D always the Achilles heel. But coach always seemed to compensate and adjust to minimize the defensive discrepancies. This year, I never understood how Scott kept praising the D and announcing the offensive lacking. Granted the O did not have that go to guy who could create his own shot; but by sharing the ball and using a lot of different scoring options; the offense was able to score with "nearly" everyone. But as far back as fallball, saw a defense, that could get the ball for UA at a decent level; but IMHO could NOT DEFEND against opponents scoring at all. "CONFUSED" seems most applicable.
  7. For what it's worth Vermont crushes sbrook @ brook. 7 straight wins for VT including running the table in the AmEast. A UA win Thursday might be the upset of the century 🤪. Not sure UA has the horses to do it???? The only encouraging thing is UA did compete and held their own for much of Yale & Penn.
  8. You nailed this. Penn must have had 5 or 6 goals on unsettled/transition plays. Difference in the game for sure.
  9. Agree 100%. Interesting to note that parking @ the uptown campus has/had been an issue since day one. In Edward Durrell Stone's initial design plans, ALL parking was to be underground. Dutch Lot and State as I recall were to be temporary only while additional funds for parking were obtained. I lived and worked at Colonial Quad from 1968 to 1970 with no parking other than an unauthorized dirt lot approximately adjacent to the current Colonial lot and whenever my boss at the Colonial Kitchen took pity on me & another friend and let us park at a small lot by the loading dock. As I recall, Colonial was paved after a protracted law suit with Edward Durrell was finally resolved. While my memory and facts maybe a little hazy and I certainly had/have no idea how the contractual issue over parking with Stone was resolved, the basic of the story is true.
  10. I know there is no such thing as a “moral” victory; but this is pretty close? Up one in fourth qtr; Yale scores last 5. Non releaseable on Enders, Yale scored 3 times on this. Whatever Enders did I hope the other guy is hurting! Did NOT look like anything flagrant?
  11. I'm sure part of the intent is to increase attendance; whether it does or not is the $11,000,000 question. Of course recruiting, better results and numerous other reasons go into the design; including cost factors, etc. etc. As for your specific question will reduced & more comfortable seating create a greater demand for seats, I hope so. All other thoughts and opinions WELCOMED!
  12. For the Syracuse Lacrosse game they went back to the hanging pass from the mirror and had them screened @ Bob Ford Blvd like they did for football and before the parking pass was moved to the phone. With the pass on the window it was easy for guide/guard to point fans left to SEFCU, right to Dutch. By putting parking on the phones too small to read and a backups on Ford Blvd would be bad. Either way parking has not been handled well for years.
  13. There is no guarantee that it will ever be anymore than a one bid league. The power fives are not about to give-up more tournament slots in basketball. The "peer" schools you mentioned are NOT about to garner multiple lacrosse bids, nor volleyball [two UA sports I follow closely.] Do not know for sure, but baseball, softball, soccer and most other UA sports would NOT grow or have easier tournament access in said caa or "pod caa" either. Once again you are more than welcome to your opinions and hopes for UA athletic expansion; for me I do not see it happening, at least not in the caa.
  14. Another reason why IMHO we should NOT join the caa!!!!!!!! Football in the caa has been a dismal failure; both on the field and attendance wise. You can all say it is because UA has/had a bad coach and worse AD, and I agree that more than likely is part of the failure. IMHO is not even close to the whole story. IMHO the caa is/was a BAD fit from the start. I was against this move from day one and admittedly probably the only one; but why you are all welcome to your opinion, I have NOT seen a single positive thing the caa has done for UA; and absolutely DO NOT see them as a viable replacement of the AmEast for UA. I have not wavered since day one and if anyone cares they can check my entire post history {if you really doubt or care??}: The AmEast is the appropriate all sports league for UA; along with some sort of northeast football affiliate. With NYS support as is; little student or faculty support; and minimal community interest at best in UA athletics, the AmEast is the best fit for UA. There may be other leagues possible, but IMHO certainly NOT the caa, which at best is a minimal step up all sports wise other than football.
  15. Left @ the ½. The only positive I can say besides this Team SUCKS (and if you think that is Not a positive statement, I can’t say/write what I’m really thinking); so for the positive UA did win the face-off battle against one of the best f/o guys in the country (for all the good it did them. ) Thats all I have to say. The End. {of the season more than likely??}
  16. Now that the budget has passed, does this mean UAlbany & Nano can go forward with re-combining?? Or was/is that a separate legislative issue?? Or was that just Hochol State Address idyll political chit-chat?????????
  17. UA plays @ NJIT Friday night the 22ent and @ Yale Sunday 24--noon. Neither involves a 7+ hour bus ride both ways. Also would not be surprised if UA goes from NJIT directly to Yale? In the AmEast & NCAAs the Thursday -Saturday match-up do not involve extra travel. You stay at the sight if you advance to Saturday. Good idea, as you say to schedule a couple thurs-sat games in the regular season, "to get used to that turn around." BUT IMHO insane to include an +7 hour bus ride when doing so.
  18. There is something basically flawed with this team. 2018 has said off season conditioning & preparation, which is certainly evident today. But IMHO there is a mental as well as physical aspect lacking. They just do not seem to be able to grasp the axiom that the “most important game of the year is the Current one.” I know it is a cliche but this team seems unable “play one game at a time.” This was no more evident then last weekend when an awful UmassL almost beat UA. And going back to the 1st game of the year; it seemed to me that loss also caused UA to lose the next two winnable games. Maybe this rant is 100% off and I’m just being TOO philosophical. I don’t know, maybe it is just growing pains of a young team?? Sorry about the rant, just awfully disappointed in this team overall.
  19. No game plan. No execution. No energy. Side line looks asleep. On the field players looking around wondering who they are covering, wondering where they should be. Dropping the ball un-contested. Should have saved the bus fare. Just forfeit & stay home🤫.
  20. Left it all on the field Thursday night?? Not sure turned off the volume. Can’t deal with homers. But think 0 ground balls UA after 1 qtr
  21. Grew up watching Doc Sauers and Bob Ford coach DIII and then transition to DII. Over the years, both had athletes who could have played DI. The differences between a DI athlete & DII or DIII is/are NOT that great. The big difference comes into TEAM and depth. How many quality kids can you get in a given year. The individual differences might be a player is a step slow; from a smaller school or a district where competition does not enhance/allow growth; might be undersized or weight; might just be a late bloomer. IMHO no reason why a DIII kid, especially in this day & age cannot make a legitimate jump to DI ball and or as Eli illustrated, even the NBA
