  1. I'm surprised you didn't hear it as I am just a few rows behind you lol. It was near the end with maybe 2 or 3 minutes left. I'll second the people changing the pace or going off beat during the defense chants. It did happen a few times last night. That said, I also like the increasing pace of chants during opponent foul shots. Our crowd tends to just get really loud to interrupt concentration. That works sometimes, but I have been to some games at other venues (my high school back in the early 90s being one) where the crowd stomped and chanted together starting slow and slowly going faster and faster until the player shoots. Supposedly it can mess with heart rate and cause misses. If you look at musically sound metal music, the beat is typically just a few ticks faster than the average heartbeat. This actually gets your heart pumping. Some start slower and then speed up in certain spots. Same theory applies when messing with opponents lol.
  2. The crowd was amazing again. Everyone talks about how hard it is to play well in Patrick Gym, but I have to say that I am sure that NOBODY wants to play at SEFCU when there is an at or near capacity crowd. We all want renovations and improvements to the venue, but whatever happens I hope they do all that can to keep the environment the same. Best part of the night? The entire pep band putting down their instruments and chanting NIT NIT NIT!
  3. Not sure where else to put this. Thought I would throw it here.... http://www.nycbuckets.com/2016/02/freshman-joe-cremo-embraces-key-role-off-the-bench/?platform=hootsuite
  4. I see UAlbany at #32. You are right. My bad. I posted from my phone while waiting for a meeting to start. I don't know if I made a typo or if I counted wrong. That was all the way this morning and I don't remember what I did 10 minutes ago LOL. Good catch. I edited my original post.
  5. SBU up to #7 in MM poll. Albany down to 32 LCC up to 29 I'm interested to see what happens to the women's ranking when it's released tonight after the trouncing of NH followed by the loss to Maine.
  6. So many story lines to play up when marketing this game. If it isn't a sell out crowd it will be extremely sad. SBU's first visit to Albany since the Hooley shot SBU undefeated in league play this year, and owners of the longest winning streak in all of D1. UA undefeated at home this year and last home loss was to SBU one year ago. Match 1 had UA up 1 with under a minute to play. Last year SBU ruined UA's undefeated record in league play in mid February in Albany. Second to last regular season home game for UA's three best players. Last visit to Albany for a potential NBA Draft pick Hopefully the place will be as loud as it was for the Purple Growl game...
  7. My memory is going, but maybe they wanted a repeat of last year's game in NH with the Singletary shot. I had forgotten that part.
  8. Also, not sure what the stats were, and I was reading to my son while watching the second half so I had the sound off, but did UA shoot even 20% from the floor in the second half? Was Hooley 0-7 from behind the arc? I could be way off but that is what my gut is saying.
  9. I still think UA got away with one when they called the foul on the Sanders layup with 35 seconds left based on the replay. Maybe the foul on Stire was payback? I see what a lot of you mean with the no time out and it working before, but even if they didn't call it right at half court, why not call it with 2-3 seconds left when there was no good look available instead of the contested 3. NH played great defense on the final possession.
  10. Still don't understand why they didn't use their last time out and make sure they got a high percentage shot? Forcing a 3 through coverage? Oh well. UNH played well, UA didn't. On to the next.
  11. Wow. Got a call there. I didn't see any foul to send Sanders to the line.
  12. Watching the women's game now on aetv. It looks like education day brought out a very large crowd. Very nice. (Not like the MBB game in Maine, LOL) Anyway, UA up 24 at the half. This game just doesn't seem fair.
  13. Home court advantage may not be all that important. In an article on big apple buckets it was mentioned that the America East has the lowest conference winning percentage at home of the 32 conferences at 48.5% or something like that: and that includes UA and SBU that are both undefeated at home. Kind of crazy when you think about it.
  14. Women's team moves up to #10 in the mid major poll and received 5 points in the "other receiving votes" in the full NCAA top 25
  15. UA did hold on to win as far as I know. At least that's what yahoo sports app says. I'd really like to make it to a women's game this year. It's a shame I have never been to one. I don't normally enjoy watching women's basketball as it just isn't the same pace. That said, these girls deserve much more community support than they get. Their run is just incredible and something tells me that this is the year they break through and win a game or 2 in March.
  16. The real reason we aren't satisfied is because there have been so many games lost so far that the team should have won: SBU: up 1 with under a minute left Maine: lost to a bad team but still had a chance with the tip at the buzzer Those are the 2 league losses. Then look at the OOC: Kentucky: nothing to say about this loss Siena: I think UA is a better team but the loss of Peters and Charles for that game killed UA against their bigs. I have no problem with this loss except it was LCC. After that: BU: still not sure how we lost this game. Just scoring trouble at the wrong time I guess USF: terrible team we shouldn't have lost too In all reality, this team could be 24-2 if not 25-1
  17. SBU up to #12 in today's rankings Albany #28 LCC was ahead of Albany last week, fell out of the rankings this week Buffalo #39 - making it 3 SUNY schools getting votes.
  18. On the AE board the VT fans are complaining about the reffing benefiting UA. I watched some of the broadcast on DVR this morning to confirm or dispel my feelings on the refs from last night's person and they were terrible. A fun one was during the big run early in the second half (about 17:40 left in the second half of you watch a replay). Hooley almost gets a steal when the ball was knocked away towards out of bounds. Hooley chases after the ball. The VT player realizes it is off UA and literally boxes out Hooley to stop him from getting the loose ball. No call?

  20. I normally just plug my laptop into the TV with an HDMI cord and it's on the TV. I know that is a simple solution, but even my desktop has an hdmi out.
  21. Interesting. I guess what I heard was just rumor. I guess it seemed true because of the similar schools with offers and they are from the same area. It made sense. I always forget when Abe Lincoln said that I shouldn't believe everything typed on the internet Anyway: outside of watching him in warm-ups, does anyone know how McKinley is liking Albany during his redshirt year? If his experience has been positive maybe he could help land Jackson.
  22. New video on him. Description calls him and "under the radar D1 prospect with a 40" vertical, and points out his 3.5 GPA. Video looks very impressive and he looks like he could be a monster in the AE. I have been hoping UA signs Jacob Mijakowski as a 6'7" guard who can play inside and hit shots from 30' with regularity and would be a huge get, but Jackson looks like an amazing talent.
  23. I was looking at some YouTube videos of the players Albany has offers out to. This may be a repost as the video is almost a year old. Check out this video of Jamil Jackson. Another Minnesota kid with offers from North Dakota, Hampton, and Albany. Interesting Minnesota pipeline with Wheeler Baker (who transferred to North Dakota) and McKinley. I know McKinley and Baker know each other thus the decommit recommit stuff. Wonder if Baker knows Jackson and thus the similar schools? McKinley had an offer at North Dakota as well. Anyway, I post the video to comment on the radio play by play guys: what do you think? Over enthusiastic so it's fun or over enthusiastic and annoying?
  24. The online video and audio from the aefeed have been out of sync for me. Just curious if it was my laptop or the feed is bad. Not a huge deal. Pretty decent first half after a slow start. Let's see if the can keep the energy up and put the game away or if they will again be slow and allow Hartford to stay in the game.
  25. Is it me or is the sound off by a few seconds for everyone?
