  1. That's a great question. Verbal commits still has him committed and had him redshirting this season and last I knew his twitter still had a UA logo on it, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore. Who knows these days as players move around so much.
  2. Probably a pipe dream, but I would love to see UA start setting it's heights a little higher for recruits if possible. Not sure how to do it and have a chance of landing them, but look at what another mid-major (that has been brought up in this thread already) is doing with their next few classes: Grand Canyon of the WAC. They are a higher conferences than the AE but not by that much. Their next few classes of offers look to be full of 4 and 5 start recruits according to verbal commits. Yeah we don't have an NBA all-star as a coach or some of the financial backing they do, but I'm sure it could be done. OK enough dreaming from me for now. Regardless of that $iena that happened last night, and the loss of 3 all-conference players, I still have high hopes for next season with who the team should return. Even if no new recruits are added the team appears to still be near the top of the league. If Jenkins is as good as advertised (lots of comparisons to Singletary and I seem to remember someone saying he is a better shooter) and the team adds a few nice pieces the team could even be the favorite next season. Play Hard, Win, Study Hard, Graduate All-Academic Players, Reload, Repeat, Go Danes!
  3. What does Hartford's ticket allotment have to do with the $iena attendance. When 2 whole sections are given to them and their fans and no one shows up it kills attendance. Since the UA sections were also pretty bare, you are probably right it had nothing to do with it as it doesn't seem those seats would have been sold anyway. It was definitely pathetic and I have no other explanation for that.
  4. On the 2535 number, remember a good portion of that was the completely empty Hartford section. It doesn't appear that they even gave away any of their allotment. Seems they didn't think it was worth the 2 hour drive as much as our fans didn't want to brave the weather. I mean it was a disgustingly nasty night to go out and drive. I personally hate driving through these clear non-snowy roads and relatively warm winter nights.
  5. I didn't want to post anything because of emotion of losing (I guess we now know what it feels like to be a SBU fan). Yes the reffing was terrible and definitely stole some of the momentum in the second half, like a key missed travel and a ton of non foul calls, but there is no blaming the refs on this loss. In my mind it came down to a failure to try and penetrate the zone in the first half and settling for poor shots. There was a stretch of 5 or 6 extremely bad possessions in the first half. You beat the zone with penetration and dishes or inside out finding then open man. UA didn't do that leading to only scoring 21 points. Combine that with a hot outside shooting Hartford and you end up down 17. Real hard to come back from that. Nichols hitting the 3 at the end of the game was excellent though. I am excited to see him play next year. Kid has ups. I do hope they accept a post season invitation only to watch them play some more and as someone else said: give experience to underclassmen. Great season. Extremely disappointing loss to a terrible team that played their hearts out.
  6. It wouldn't surprise me if the crowd is light. It was almost a sell out on Sat yet the crowd was dead. I've felt more energy in the building in a half full arena. Apparently Hartford doesn't draw well, especially on a Weds night. Hopefully the students show up in a win or go home type game.
  7. A few warmup dunks. Nichols, McKinley, and Hooley. My 9 year old son was playing with the video editor for fun and made the short video. I don't know how much else I have, but that was from before the Stony Brook game.
  8. On a side note...I find it awesome that the Front Court was supposed to be the teams greatest weakness, but both starters there won Player of the Week at least once. Amazing final week by Greg Stire. I don't think he gets nearly enough credit for the hard work he put in all year. Yes this team loses 3 all conference players, but it retains Stire, Rowley, and Peters, gains McKinley (who BTW looks like he bulked up during the season and is great to watch during warm-ups) and the team might get Charles back. With Cremo, Ennema, Nichols, and Andrews this team should remain a top level team. If Jenkins is as good as advertised and we add a recruit or 2: I wouldn't be surprised if the team is even better next season. (Scary thought considering losing Hooley, Singletary, and Sanders!)
  9. I'll just leave this here... I like the America East prediction! http://sports.yahoo.com/news/forde-minutes--who-needs-course-correction-before-march-madness-051918263-ncaab.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw

  14. I missed that in the initial post, lol, but you can't have a Rushmore without the 'founding fathers'
  15. All good options mentioned above, but after 15 years you would have to include Will Brown for all he has done with building the program at the D1 level and Doc Sauers for all he did for the decades before bring the program to that level.
  16. I'd hope for a 14 (or even better) as in the past the panel has given some preference and favorable seeds when they have been there before, and UA would deserve it as it would be the 4th straight appearance (of course if they make it). I can't think of any examples off hand, but I know I have heard that before and I know a bunch of bubble teams that barely miss the tourney have complained about teams with worse records or resumes getting in because kg the name of the school or results in past years. Either way, I'm glad we can still debate it. I can't wait for the AE tourney to start and get this moving.
  17. If they have UA as a 7 seed in the NIT, where does that put UA in the real tournament when SBU has that spot with an auto bid? Does that mean another year as a 16 seed or even a PIG?
  18. I know a lot of people are predicting a big drop off with the loss of 3 great all-conference players, but I am just as excitefor next year as I was this year. I don't see that much of a drop, especially if it's true Dallas will be back. That's great news. The above said, there is still ball to be played this season. Let's send SBU to the NIT
  19. The fun part is how many people post messages from smart phones on the go and have auto-correct issues or just don't think when they type. Grammar Nazi's make me laugh. Makes me want to say "get a life!" If I was looking at the SBU message board and saw a typo or even an all out error from someone who wasn't edumacated well I wouldn't think twice. It's the internet, not a published article or book.
  20. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/forde-minutes--referee-subterfuge-could-make-march-more-interesting-062724966-ncaab.html It's not just the AE...
  21. SBU falls to #9 UA reappears in the top 25 at #24 I can't remember the last time (if ever) the America East had 2 men's teams in the mid-major top 25. (On the women's side I have seen both UA and Maine ranked for a while) LCC (who is getting crushed by Iona at home at the moment) is #26
  22. Cremo wins rookie of the week for the third time this season: http://m.ualbanysports.com/mobile/ViewArticle.dbml?atclid=210735520&DB_OEM_ID=15800&
  23. Not sure if this comment is better here or the SBU thread, but one other interaction I forgot about until someone brought it up on the AE message board. What was the deal when the ref blew the whistle, then brought Rich and Warney together and held both of their hands? I've never seen a ref do something like that before. Was it WB's comment getting Rich to be mean or what? I jokingly told my son that they were playing too rough with each other and the ref wanted them to kiss and make up.
  24. You're a lot closer to me than I thought, haha. I dunno, it wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm glad they got something a little different in there from the usual stuff they do. I'm waiting until they get people doing dunks off trampolines, stacking plates on a unicycle, etc. That's the kind of stuff I wanna see haha. Lol, I'm only 2 rows behind you. Haven't said hi yet because anonymity is fun. I think you can see your hat in the bottom of the screen a few times. While the camera on my phone is very good, the digital zoom sucks.
  25. Also, pretty cool that they did some halftime entertainment... From my seats: https://youtu.be/eyIJM08FU-I
