  1. More importantly - only Albany out of the 4 SUNY University Centers has EVER made it to the Women's Tourney We are the only ones and we have done it 5 times
  2. I'd agree BUT I just want an excuse to go to Vegas for a week
  3. hopefully we do not schedule a DIII again
  4. Where people go to find my salary - seethroughny.net
  5. See previous post below from last year Any financial advisor would advise a D1 coach to participate in the optional 403b (similar to 401k) retirement as it is rare that a coach would remain in one state system long enough to acquire the full pension benefit. Doesn't mean that he will leave just that the whole pension discussion is probably a nonstarter. I personally think that Coach Brown is staying put for a time to come, ok a long, long time. It is of interest to note that the salaries of the assistant coaches on both the men's and women's sides have risen dramatically with the success of the teams over the last five years.
  6. There are plenty of other forums available for "off-topic" conversations. Take those issues there. I find it refreshing that BPF has existed as long as it has and hope it continues along the same path. This is a discussion board about our mutual affiliation with UA sports. I for one believe it should remain that way. If you want a place to discuss other issues, then create that space somewhere else. If others want that, they will follow. I'll be right here rooting for the home team.
  7. Easy - still a ways to go before the championship game
  8. If only that were the case, Bob. Last season, Maine and Albany split and were 14-2 in AE.........non-conference RPI was used as the tie-breaker......not the fact that Maine went 2-0 vs. #3 Stony Brook while Albany went 1-1 vs. the Seawolves. But whatever.......if Queen Amy & her court think that computer rankings based on non-conference competition is a better way to break a tie than records vs. other teams in AE then so be it. Wrong Jeff Last years seeding for the women's tournament 1 - Maine 2 - Albany 3 - Stony Brook 4 - New Hampshire 5 - Hartford 6 - UMBC 7 - Vermont 8 - Bingo Maine lost to Hartford in the semis at Bingo so Albany hosted Hartford for the final look it up You are correct to say that if both teams win out the team with the highest RPI will be the #1 seed
  9. Yes - she was in her warmups at the end of the bench
  10. According to this article from February, it's a new position: http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/news/2015/02/10/ualbany-to-create-new-vice-president-position.html The VP position is new - it elevates the previous position to a higher decision making level The duties are very similar to the previous position Hopefully as a VP the new hire will have more sway over these issues
  11. This is NOT a new position Replacement for someone who has "left" since President Jones arrived
  12. And that officially closes the book on the November 2013 signing class. All four year players. All gone. NOT GREG STIRE SO STIRE WAS A MAY SIGNEE Still the same freshman class
  13. And that officially closes the book on the November 2013 signing class. All four year players. All gone. NOT GREG STIRE
  14. 25 - 0 - Lowell has a tough road ahead, building a D1 lax program from nothing.
  15. Too small - need to allow for future growth for now chair backs in 3 middle sections on both sides (purple please) video screens (rent/buy) in at least 2, if not all four corners
  16. LOL...coming from the guy who could be out of a job in two years. Not a knock on Patso's...but the guy should mind his own store. Yep... too funny Pat$o$ is an a$$clown. The University can only give a maximum of 5 years for the coaching position. Will has more stability here than Pat$o$ will ever have at $iena.
  17. All current players and those who are committed by signing a LOI would have to be released by the school. This is absolutely not automatic. Coach Brown is probably not in the ERS (NY state retirement system). He is most probably in TIAA-Cref which is an option that is available at most universities including Fordham and George Mason. The state pays a substantial portion in but it is not a traditional pension. The state pension is only a really good deal if you stay in until you qualify for full benefit this is why most coaches and faculty do not take this option. The probability is high that they will move during their career.
  18. Not necessarily - we may find out now if Benson was the right hire.
  19. UA can not give a substantial raise over what he is already making. There is no money.
  20. Scotia-Glenville won the Class A title this afternoon. Our very own Joe Cremo named MVP of the tournament. Coach Brown at game and interviewed at half time. Looking for big things from young Mr Cremo over the next 4 years.
