Rumor was that BU would have had to come up with only 250K if they wanted to go to the Patriot League this past academic year and owed nothing if they stayed and were served with the post season tournament prohibition. If the buyout amounts are correct then no wonder Lowell is the new addition to the league.

Why would the CAA continue operate the CAA Football conference if it only has two members involved? Especially becuase I'm sure William & Mary would be looking at the SoCon in that scenario. Maybe, just maybe this will end up giving AEast another shot at a football conference. JMU-->Sun Belt Delaware-->MAC/A10 William & Mary-->SoCon Towson-->America East (natural rival with UMBC) That would give AEast/A10/Big East FCS football conference of: Albany Stony Brook Maine UNH URI Richmond Towson Villanova The natural 10th team is Georgetown (Big East) but only if they commit to facilities and scholarships (highly unlikely). If not, then I say extend Monmouth an invite and ask them to at least get up to 8,500 seats. Forget Monmouth - bring in Central Connecticut as a full member of America East with football

I had heard this as a rumor for the last few months. Don't like it. I agree - time to form a nothern division in the CAA. Thought it was the wrong move until now.

This thread is the reason I don't post much anymore. The chicken littles and newbies that want change can rip into others all they want. We are fans but our loyalty is to the University. Will Brown will be gone someday we will still be fans of the team and root for success. Comparing the Mens game and the Womens game is wrong. Maine men have beaten the real BU and Vermont. Maine women have 1 conference win. While I do not always agree with "coaching" decisions, I know this: We have 2 NCAA appearances - The Brook has none - Bingo cheated to get one unmemorable appearance Try to enjoy the games - there is a reason that we are "fans" and not coaches or administrators. Some of you are pushing this board towards the piece of $iena that is the $ienahoops board.
