  1. Also nice to see the Frosh players giving valuable minutes and holding the lead. Future seems bright.
  2. I guess that I am slightly skeptical that any of today's sports reporters are going to dedicate that much attention to women's basketball to fill out spots 1-25 with due diligence. Still, my doubts have been proven wrong countless times before. Easy solution is to beat Duke, but like DP said, do not overlook the Q...that is the arguably the best non-Duke opponent left.
  3. He has coached at the high school level in western PA article from 2010 - http://www.post-gaze...es/201012170281
  4. We can't even get scores posted on our website that fast.
  5. News from the Evil Empire The Emperor has no clothes
  6. After beating Marist, Albany moves from 17 to 15. Marist drops from 3 to 13. Albany did receive 1 first place vote which I believe may be the first ever. It should be noted that the America East is not represented on the voting panel this year.
  7. I do not really understand why we can not report our actuaL attendance? I may be mistaken, but if there are 8500 seats and they are all filled and we put 3000 on the grass, how is that violating fire code? We are not over filling the place?? Anyone know [perhaps Brutus] exactly how many actual (not grass) seats there are? The stadium is surrounded by a fence which has controlled access points (gates). In an emergency only so many people can safely get through those exits.
  8. I can't believe I am joining this conversation but we did play the Aussie national anthem in honor of Australia Day in 2012. Australia Day is on January 26 each year. That seemed like a nice gesture. Please let's get back to news about the recruits.
  9. I am somewhat disappointed in the attendance although it was almost twice that of any game this late last season. The temp wasn't that bad for this time of year. I agree with UAalum72 that November games should not start any later than 1pm (sun is out for entire game). Sad to see the stands on the visitor side damaged, blocked off, and full of garbage. FWIW - We heard that the administration was expecting a crowd around 6000
  10. Add another sellout for Homecoming - 8500 Average announced attendance through 3 games - 7804 Average announced attendance through 3 games last year - 5176 That is a bump of 2628 fans/game (announced) In 3 games we have outdrawn our total attendance from last year (2013/23412 to 2012/20021) I am pretty pleased with these numbers but we can do better Yesterday's attendance v Maine - 4912 Average announced attendance through 4 games - 7081 Our attendance last year on 11/03 v Wagner was 2617 new stadium and new league have made a huge difference hopefully with some promotion of events next week we will be back over 6000
  11. Patsos because he is a clown. He ran onto the court after a foul call - not sure what he said.
  12. Why do we keep playing these prima donna's [like cuse and hopkins] who won't come to Fallon Field?????? We have established a pretty respectable presence in DI athletics and in my opinion [except for money games in BB and FB], should NO LONGER play teams that refuse to come to Albany {and that especially includes that so called gonzonga of the east who plays in an Albany community paid for arena AND equally annoying is playing hopkins who is not even DI except for lacrosse} I hope you're kidding about Syracuse and Hopkins when it comes to lacrosse. There is no comparison to the $iena basketball team. Beating either of those 2 lacrosse teams (or better yet both) in ANY sesason gives us instant cred nationally. If you don't know about it already, look up the lacrosse history of both of these schools. Would you complain if we played football at Notre Dame every year? There's no comparison to ND (or any) football. Johns Hopkins averaged 2296 at home last year, even with over 7K vs. Loyola. Syracuse averaged 3,800 with a max of 5,300 vs. Virginia. The only reason we play at their places all the time is that they don't need us; if we didn't want to, somebody else would take our place. Point is we can play NEC/MAAC teams or Hopkins and Cuse, if I was coach I know who I would rather play - nothing to do with attendance, a payout, or getting a home game. It's about getting respect in polls and from prospective recruits, their coaches and families. If you have the opportunity to go Syracuse and Baltimore every year you take it. It's a no brainer - those are the programs that others are measured against.

  15. Here's hoping the Lady Danes are playing on March 10. Nothing will ever beat 2013 though.
  16. bad taste - to say the least change is coming at the end of the season too bad Fordie never got a chance with a full team but he did get us here he is letting his assistants audition and they are not stepping up as for who comes next - it won't be anyone who is here now and they will come with a much higher price tag no matter who it is it will take a couple more years No need to everyone can see what's going on... Give McElroy time to find a new staff and let coach ford go out without hearing that. wow - I agree with 100% with Click on this
  17. America East would like to welcome you to MARCH MEH. Lowell and now this - I can't take much more.
  18. Attendance for CCSU game of 6412 is 9th all time for a UA home game. Homecoming should be higher (sell out please) which will put all 3 home games in top 10 in attendance all time. Average announced attendance through 2 games is 7456. Yes we know there were closer to 11,000 a the first game. so far - If you build it..
