  1. We are a .500 team in the NEC at best. And .000 against the NEC right now.
  2. Sporting goods stores like Dick's have supposedly waterproof gear - if you're too good to poke holes in a trash bag. Trash bag it is then.... Bring on the purple rain and pain!
  3. Radar looks like the rain is advancing pretty slowly - might not arrive until the second half I noticed the same thing. Cloud cover in Syracuse but no rain until Buffalo and points west. We may make it through with no rain if the front keeps moving slowly. With regard to our offensive line and the competition scheduled in the coming weeks ... *gulp*.
  4. Agreed... Last year he was dealing... This year he's not the same player... Is it him or the competition that we're facing? Or a weaker offensive line?
  5. I now believe that if we will build it they will come. I have spoken with so many first time attendees after Saturday's game, all of whom truly enjoyed their experience. Larger crowds in November might be tough, but I think there is a large and untapped football fan base in the 518.
  6. At what point do officials start talking about Phase 2? If we get another game or two with crowds like last Saturday, we'll know for sure that even larger crowds are possible IMHO.
  7. Please do bring your family!! Families are precisely what will drive our attendance figures up. When families of 4 or more start showing up, it takes a lot fewer households and fans to fill up the stadium. I've already talked to several fathers who have never seen a game but who want to bring their son or daughter to the BOFO.
  8. I'm going with 8,500 seats plus berm until proven otherwise. I still don't know for sure if the berm is part of the 8,500, but I think it is not. This would account for Saturday's attendance: 8,500 sellout, plus about 2,300 on the grass berm and standing around.
  9. Did not see any walking vendors. I did in section 103. Candy only.
  10. The holding call looked pretty weak too. And RI got away with some pass interference once or twice tonight.
  11. Our redshirted bench players towered over our suited-up players. Anyone else notice how much bigger the guys in the purple jump suits were? Maybe it was just my viewing angle.
  12. Nothing yet for me... Per the UA website: Friday, September 13 4:30 PM Bob Ford Field Open House Season ticket holders, UAlbany faculty and Great Danes donors are invited to an open house at Bob Ford Field to get a look at your seats for the 2013 football season. Catch the end of practice and enjoy light refreshments as you tour the new facility. Open house was great tonight! Stadium is nicer than I thought. Food was great too!!
  13. I am interested in donating to the cause of advertising BPF at the BOFO.
  14. Good start for the NY schools. Stony Brook had the defensive player of the year. I'm looking forward to seeing Stony Brook play Buffalo this weekend on ESPN3. The game is out in Buffalo at 3:30.
  15. And get the students at other colleges interested. This is the team of the 518 (and Hudson Valley). IMHO, I would like to see free admission for students of the other local colleges including Siena. And we need to market to the local high school football programs. Those players are precisely the people who would enjoy coming to a division 1 football game with their families; after all, don't a lot of those high school players want to play in college one day?
  16. How many football games will we sell out this year? Will this Saturday be one of those sell outs?
  17. Will students be allowed in for free to sit on the grass hill or available seats in the visitors' section? I hope students get free admission.
  18. That's a troubling question to ask heading in the first CAA season...it's a good question. My thought is that we lost out best player on offense and our leading rusher (among other players) ... .
  19. Any updates on the construction of the track and field? Projected completion date?
  20. Could we schedule two (or even three) FBS schools in one season? For example, I like the idea of playing a (1) BCS school, in addition to (2) SUNY Buffalo and/or UMASS. I'll be disappointed if we don't get our I-90 rivalries scheduled on a somewhat regular basis.
