  1. We need to toughen up IMO. Gattuso will give us PA. That's what we need. We need to get back to hard nosed ground and pound football. That's playoff football.
  2. I'm disappointed that Rossomando didn't get the job, but if Gattuso is the man! I'm very happy with that over Keeler.
  3. From coachingsearch.com this morning .... University at Albany (NY): A source tells CoachingSearch.com that Maryland defensive line coach Greg Gattuso will be named head coach at Albany.
  4. Unfortunatlely it's mpossible with unfunded mandates such as Title IX and without billionaire donors.
  5. It was discussed last year as the the giants cited our lack of indoor facility as a factor in them not returning. We need something. The bubble is a waste of space. At the very least they need to put down field turf in the bubble. Lacrosse and football need it badly. I believe a field house is part of the facilities master plan. Who knows when that will happen though.
  6. Gattuso would be a great hire too. http://www.umterps.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&ATCLID=207327174
  7. As I mentioned. ....from coachingsearch.com Albany: A source at Albany tells me the coaching search is not yet wrapped up. Though KC Keeler could land the job, there has not a been an offer yet. A different source tells me that Maryland defensive line coach Greg Gattuso could emerge as the guy.
  8. Not so sure. Santilo isn't actually reporting it. He just retweeting someone else's report. I do think we'll know soon enought though.
  9. Baseball is targeted in conversation because (1) it's the northeast and (2) it's the lowest profile men's sport we have left. If we stil had wrestling or swimming or golf we'd be talking about that instead. But hose were already victims of Title IX (at least wrestling was).
  10. Cutting any women's sports is a non-starter. That only exacerbates the Title IX issue that having full scholarship football creates. I would think baseball and men's soccer would be the first to go if anything had to go. Morbid thinking though. Lets hope we keep filling the stadium and using that additional revenue to offset the increased costs. If we cut BOTH men's and women's soccer wouldn't that be a wash as far as Title IX is concerned? And would save about 20 schollies plus expenses; more overall savings than just cutting baseball?? Not going to happen. The stadium was built on the premise of it being a multisport facility. I'm not sure that will matter 2-3 years from now. Plus lets play 2 or 3 lacrosse games on it a year and it's still multi-sport. I'm not advocating for it. More sports the better as long as we're not sacrificing on our bread and butter sports (basketball, football, lacrosse and T&F).

  12. FYI here is a good list of all the open HC jobs http://footballscoop...oaching-changes
  13. No, there isint a lot of time to waste with the JMU job sitting out there. Rossomundo or Keeler and I have to think Keeler would jump at the chance to gop to JMU. JMU is looking at major BCS coordinators for their job. I'm also pretty sure they're probably negotiating a move to an FBS conference right now which is what they're selling to FBS coordinators.

  15. Honestly, I'm surprised we still have baseball. Track and Field is safe. The investment in facilities is too great to slash it.
  16. A 3-star from Maryland Russell Neverdon http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/170031/russell-neverdon
  17. Here's a local NY product. Brad Garcia Warwick NY Ended up with over 2,500 rushing yards and 27 TDs this year from what is essentially a full time wildcat QB position. Wouldn't be a RB for us. Prob a safety or outside backer. Good athlete. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1017656/
  18. Its the first year in a long long time that we haven't had an OLinemen make post-season honors. The difference in our O-line vs the rest of the CAA was very clearly apparent this year.
  19. Simply a product of good CAA teams beating up on each other. And 2 of the 3 CAA teams are top 8 seeds. I think you'd be hard pressed to argue that the CAA wasn't one of the best 2 conferences in the country this year.
