  1. Event was great Saturday. The speakers were phenomenal. Coach Ford was his typical self. A great night.
  2. It really is an awesome story. We're lucky to have been able to witness it.
  3. Hmmm $87,000 in outstanding advances does not look great. the impression of impropriety is sometimes more powerful than the act itself.
  4. www.ualbanysports.com/bobfordtribute Tickets are now available. June 7th. 5:30pm Cocktails at Bob Ford Field 7:00pm Dinner at SEFCU Arena Tickets will sell out.
  5. My opinion is they're pulled out. But that's just my opinion. It looks to me like the berm is built to be attached to a permanent structure on the away side. I don't think this is them abandoning that plan. It was just more cost effective to buy these bleachers than it was to rent them.
  6. I don't understand why we can't just open the stadium for bathroom and concession during Lax games? They should be able to rope off the rest of the stadium to just use the concourse.
  7. No details. Just "bigger". BTW - bleachers mean a lot of things. Maybe I'm delusional, but could we see something like this........
  8. We'll have to wait and see, but I don't think permanent means permanently in that spot. It just means we own them and don't rent them. This is the smart move. No one is going to deny us money for the full build out by saying you have bleachers and their fine. The money will be there or it won't. Its not right now, so lets not sit and wait for it like we did last time.
  9. So let me get this straight...you're saying that thenBig 5 would be able to pay their players more, give them access to agents, give athletes a vote, and let them finish their college in 6 years and play for 5? And basically whatever else they want, but still maintaining their NCAA moniker? How does that not effectively separate themselves even if it's not official? They're still going to be playing the old FBS teams, sure but the gap is going to be huge. Just wait until they say we're going back to a 100 scholarship limit. Maybe I'm reading this wrong?

  11. Confirmed. He was offered by JMU out of high school and chose us over them. Coaching change probably sent him packing.
  12. Btw I'll also say a big kudos to athletics for keeping the SEFCU lot for e football game only.
  13. It doesn't look different because it always looked like a track and field facility at we borrowed to play football in. It is a very high quality facility now though. I suspect it will be the permanent home for the new away stands being purchased for Bob Ford field.
  14. Madaras did not suit up. I didn't get the scoop. He was manning the chains. Word on the visiting stands is that they are purchasing a set that are bigger and nicer and that will eventually be repurposed when the full build happens. This is smart. It is what they should've done 20 years ago at University Field. Long term planning. I like to see it.
  15. A couple points. 1. Defense was handcuffed today. They weren't allowed to play their nickel defense which is according to the coaches a game changing scheme. It has been stifling the offense for the past two weeks. 2. Fiachi looked really good. The coaches said they've given him more control on the field. There will be no checking with the sidelines this year. 3. Tempo will be faster come fall. They did not run any hurry up today which they will. But we will not run too much no huddle because we don't have the depth on defense. It only exposes our defense if we go too quickly on offense. 4. Coaches are very impressed with our RBs. Didn't need much focus at all this spring. Depth on both lines is suspect.
  16. Glad to hear that Fiacchi is stepping up. He's a good kid and we know he has the talent. Here's to hoping he just had a down year last year.
  17. The issue is the divide between the Athletic Equipment folks who have the good stuff and the relationship with Anaconda sports (who is hosting this site) and the Team Store/Promotions staff. I don't know if its a contract issue or not. It may be.
  18. Football gear fundraiser being run by the player parents association. Proceeds go towards the great post-game meals for the players that they put on at home and on the road. Some good stuff, including stadium seats to clip onto the bleachers at Bob Ford Field. http://www.anacondateamstore.com/cgi-bin/anaconda/wcart?store=ualbany
  19. I like the energy. It's different of course but I like the energy.
